Another cracking article from the Times. I do hope they start investigating the dodgy/unlawful trans inclusion policies in sports next.

Yep. That. I also want to read that Stonewall is officially outlawed from schools. I've been bombarding my Son's school with all the recent reports which have completely discredited Stonewall. I cannot wait for them to be forced to cancel membership so I can say "I told you so" then I'm Going to demand an enquiry as to why the governors and the school solicitors "waived" membership through despite all the damning info available. I've been holding onto my anger with them for good reason.
WarriorN · 14/06/2021 07:19

Can I claim it back?

toffeebutterpopcorn · 14/06/2021 07:32

How many refuges or hostels could they have funded with that money? How many therapists could they have trained to work with children?

I know it’s not a massive amount (in comparison to other things they waste money on - London Garden bridge anyone) but for the love of god...

Cabinfever10 · 14/06/2021 07:35

We need a public enquiry about how stonewall were allowed to have so much power

FlyPassed · 14/06/2021 07:45

And this is ON TOP of what we pay for all those government departments, police forces, schools etc to receive Stonewall homophobic, sexist indoctrination training!

YesClemFandango · 14/06/2021 07:47

Interesting. Does anyone know if there a set fee for the Diversity Champions scheme or does it depend on organisation size?

That money is in addition to fees for membership etc. - just grants:

In an analysis of the charity’s accounts, the TaxPayers’ Alliance calculated that the government gave Stonewall at least £2,616,102 between 2015 and 2019. That was in addition to funds raised through other schemes in which employers, including 250 government departments and public bodies, pay subscriptions to be endorsed as an LGBT-friendly workplace.

Nonmaquillee · 14/06/2021 08:47

Thanks for sharing this. I’m outraged and shall be sharing it with my children’s school as well.

WarriorN · 14/06/2021 08:59

I wonder if this is one of the reasons why some government depts are pulling out.,

Great quotes from Stephanie D-A in there.

OhHolyJesus · 14/06/2021 09:33

We should send this to all our MPs and maybe even the HoL. I know they are all aware at this point, I don't think a single one could deny knowledge at this stage, but we need to keep the pressure on.

I want a refund. Maybe I should contact inland revenue!

DdraigGoch · 14/06/2021 10:09

This won't even count the time wasted filling in extensive submission files either.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 14/06/2021 11:25

I saw one submission that was huge. I know how long it takes me and my team to complete a 6-8page evidence documentation for clients (can take 2-3 days getting all the bits together and writing parts), so heaven knows how long it is taking staff to do these.

WarriorN · 14/06/2021 11:35

These things are often a Phenomenal waste of time in schools.

What they do do is fine tune your awareness to the importance of the things you have to find evidence for. Which is fine if it's basic skills quality mark or something similar; I can see the benefit despite how arduous it often is, but an entirely different thing if it's Stonewall.

It also serves to make those completing the documents, believe in working in a certain way and obviously impacts policies and staff meetings.

I've done enough of the fuckers

We really, really do need this inquiry. Any campaigning org needs to be seen as political, however much you might agree with its views, and political orgs should not be embedded with any local or national government, schools, police, NHS or any other tax payer funded org.
Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 14/06/2021 11:45

This reminds me of Kids Company.

WarriorN · 14/06/2021 12:17

This is so much bigger.

This has moulded public services across the county to have a certain approach to the T that is ultimately damaging to women and children.

It's going to take a long time to unpick and undo that.

And much as I despise Labour's stance on all this, let's not forget that Stonewall rose to these heights under the premierships of Cameron, May and Johnson, and the Secrestart of Stateships of Morgan, Greening, Rudd and Mordaunt.
WarriorN · 14/06/2021 12:37

True. And I'd like to know why.

SpindleWhorl · 14/06/2021 12:39

Me too, @WarriorN. I think they should be made to explain to the nation. And Maria Miller, too.

I'm actually revolted at Keir Starmer's ambivalence on this.

HereForTheCakes · 14/06/2021 12:58

I feel a letter to my MP coming on...

Dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 14/06/2021 14:16

Quote SpindleWhorl: 'And much as I despise Labour's stance on all this, let's not forget that Stonewall rose to these heights under the premierships of Cameron, May and Johnson, and the Secrestart of Stateships of Morgan, Greening, Rudd and Mordaunt.'

What did the LibDems get out of the 2010 Coalition? It wasn't PR so was it these issues? Only Tories can roll this back right now.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 14/06/2021 14:38

I think this was absolutely one of the tnings if not the thing they got
