Thx for the sharetoken OP. Such a shame that The Times is behind a paywall!

It will take SO much political will to unpick this stuff. Throwing out Stonewall is only the first tiny step.

There needs to be a complete re-examination of ALL documents/policies which bear the imprints of Stonewall's sticky fingers.

Yes it's finally becoming clear just why so many public services, schools, police, councils and businesses have adopted the gender identity ideology. It's not just blue-haired social media interns, it's been driven by HR departments allowing Stonewall to dictate their EDI policies, and government bodies paying Stonewall to re-educate them so they can have the logo on their website and look inclusive. All roads lead back to Stonewall.

@Dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby and @Theeyeballsinthesky,

Bloody good questions about the Lib Dems and the Coalition. Will read, research and think.

WarriorN · 14/06/2021 16:41

Well, clear from page 6 of that document there's a belief that young children are 'trans' from an early age.

*The authors of the report are very grateful to all those involved with the production of the review. We would like to thank Susan Botcherby, David Darton, Clare Thetford and Heather Barclay at the Equality and Human Rights Commission for commissioning the review and for their advice and support during its completion.

We would also like to thank the Gender Identity Research and Education Society (GIRES), the Scottish Transgender Alliance (STA) and a:gender for their expert input.

Our thanks also go to other members of the Qualitative Research Unit who shared the responsibility for drawing together information and references throughout the review.

By definition, any evidence review is out of date as soon as the cut off date for what can be included has passed. NatCen was commissioned to incorporate evidence up to, and including, early 2009. Any subsequent evidence and developments are not captured in the review.*

Huge amounts of quotes from something Whittle did in that document.

Also a section describing lack of acceptance by parents being highly damaging.

SpindleWhorl · 14/06/2021 17:05

And that appalling Coalition document was sent to government departments to lead on actions, from MoJ to DfE to HMRC to DCLG.

Signed off by Theresa May and Lynne Featherstone.

So the Lib Dems caved in on tuition fees for a stupid referendum on AV (not even PR) and this?

Jesus.

Meanwhile in 2012 Ben Summerskill was still holding out at Stonewall, but four years later it was game over. Maria Miller, Gendered Intelligence and Ruth Hunt got their way.

And the Lib Dems were shown the door anyway in 2015.

Meanwhile in 2011

PigeonStreet37 · 14/06/2021 17:09

Can I ask is Jigsaw PSHE still attached to Stonewall?

I don't know much about Ranil Jayawardena MP but he tweeted the Times pieces with the comment:
You might expect me to say this, but Liz [Truss] is spot on…

It is time for government to leave this scheme, which has “provided inaccurate legal advice” to those providing public services.

The rights of women and girls must be protected… the EHRC is leaving already.

Although he has a fair number of supportive comments, I'm taken aback by some of the replies. They're not worth further consideration beyond how far people are going to say Sinnott trumps everything else - and, new to me, the disparaging of Reindorf. It's disappointing how much Stonewall and their view of the law has skewed the perspective of people who are obviously very passionate about this issue.

Accidentally started another thread on this - Suzanne Webb MP being very supportive and getting supported. Ramil taking a bashing.
