*The Act received Royal Assent but only sections 17, 21 and 22 have a commencement date. They came into effect the day after Royal Assent . Section 17 only gives the Scottish Ministers power to make regulations by way of Statutory Instruments to bring in the nuts and bolts of how the Act will work. Sections 21 and 22 are also technical points only.

This is not, whatever else it may or may not be, the first prosecution, or attempt to prosecute, under the Act.*
