Ummm - sanitary towel brands, anyone?

A brand that recognises and helps women (maybe charitable tie ins) etc?

Any recommendations? Needs to be particularly robust (we are taking The Shining level of flow here).

Not sure on flow as I’m relatively light but Bodyform did a wonderfully balanced advertising campaign last year that recognised the biological realities of ‘people who menstruate’.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 11/04/2021 10:21

People?

‘people who menstruate’

If I saw/read an advertising campaign stating this, I'd boycott the products.

OhHolyJesus · 11/04/2021 10:25

I use independent reusables/washables.

I think Honour your Flow are still solidly about women and girls. I'll look out my research on this if you are interested in washables.

I think Tampax are holding the line in some countries but not all.

Tibtom · 11/04/2021 10:26

Me too

InsideNumberNine · 11/04/2021 10:33

Sorry, I was being sarcastic there!!

toffeebutterpopcorn · 11/04/2021 10:42

Hey Girls anyone? I can only find an article someone wrote bitterly complaining that they use the words ‘women’ and ‘girls’. Of course...

Body forms adverts last year where beautiful, I now buy them exclusively for my daughter and local food bank.

Watch this and tell me they don't know what a woman is.

ChiefBabySniffer · 11/04/2021 10:57

Seem to have posted a foreign version.

This is the English one. You don't lose much in the translation. I get emotional everyone I see this advert, it's a masterpiece.

JamieFrasersBigSwingingKilt · 11/04/2021 10:59

That is fabulous. My eyes might have got a bit wet watching it. Thanks for posting.

LibertyMole · 11/04/2021 11:13

I use Hey Girls. You might want to choose the night time pads for a heavy flow.

Keepthechangeyafilthyanimal1 · 11/04/2021 11:21

Love that advert, never actually seen it on TV but it damn well should be. Although maybe after the watershed with those sexy bits in Wink

Whatwouldscullydo · 11/04/2021 11:24

Do you need disposables? Luxury moon is a good website but it sells reusables and menstrual cups.honor your flow too.

Earthwise girls donate pads to girls in Kenya when you buy 3 of their earthwise brand. Although they seem.nore careful not to mention the word girls too much these days Sad

CatCup · 11/04/2021 11:25

Always. They donate to a womens sports charity.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 11/04/2021 11:27

I’ve spotted some - Rael (‘Designed for women by women’) who seem to be the ticket. I’ll have a good read through their site but their night towels are actually a sensible shape.

OP posts:
toffeebutterpopcorn · 11/04/2021 11:28

Ok so far so good

‘Our mission is to provide every woman with access to quality, high-performing period care that’s as good for you as it is for the environment.

All Rael products are made with sustainable and natural ingredients’

Promise I don’t work for them!

Oooo toothpaste too... worth a try. Not cheap though.

Soontobe60 · 11/04/2021 11:33

@CatCup

Always. They donate to a womens sports charity.
Their website is clearly all about girls and women.
Whatwouldscullydo · 11/04/2021 11:36

Which is strange given they were kinda the ones who started it all..

Mind u always and tampax do seem to have quietly gone back...I guess they realised alienating their customers was a bad idea

toffeebutterpopcorn · 11/04/2021 11:38

I’d prefer a ‘mea culpa’ myself...

AprilFoolaround · 11/04/2021 21:12

Are Lillets ok? I love their teen pads and dds and I all use them. They don't irritate me and don't have any scent.

QuentinWinters · 11/04/2021 22:19

I bought hey girls for SD the other day in waitrose. They look fab. Eco friendly and do charity donations, so I was very happy to buy them

SusannaMorvern · 11/04/2021 22:24

I've used Bodyform for 40yrs, although I miss the days when they were shaped with a hump (!) in the middle, far more effective at night.

They support Bloody Good Period, who are awful.
EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 11/04/2021 22:38

I use Honour Your Flow too. Their night pads are huge, really sensible shape.
