CIS woman in survey

Hi all perhaps you can help me here, I’ve been sent a survey about the inclusion of transgender and non binary players into u18’s rugby, I wanted to fill it in but they ask whether you are a Cis Woman, Cis Man, Transgender or Non Binary and no option of just selecting woman. I want to do the survey as I think it’s important but I don’t want to select CIS anything as I hate the term, shall I just click ‘Other’??

Personally I put other and then in the text box at the end said my sex was female & I don’t have a gender identity

It is annoying but do not be sidetracked, the important matter is to do the survey

lf it will register your opinions in the group in which you want it to be counted then that is a good thing, at least they are not conflating the opinions of males and females by letting transwomen register as women. If you tick other who knows what they will think.

I hate cis but would tick that one if there was an opportunity to register a protest elsewhere in the form or just attach a note.

Great, thank you for the advice, it just got my back up. I know rugby isn’t the safest sport but I don’t want my daughter put at any more risk.

Other's the only accurate answer there I'd think. I'm not cis - I've read the definitions, and by those, I am non-binary or trans (depending on whether they're including non-binary in trans or not, because sometimes they do)

But since I don't have a gender identity at all, and I don't subscribe to these ideas, Other is the way to go.

As I find the use of cis offensive (as do many other women), I ticked Other and explained why. From what I remember, there doesn't seem to be a word limit.

Well, naturally you would. Confused

As you have said elsewhere, you do have a gender identity and that gender identity is congruent with your sex. So you're a member of the group about which the cis tickbox aims to capture data.

It doesn't really move the discussion on regarding which of the available boxes those of us without a gender identity should tick.

Your eyes are going to roll out of your head skyliner - I ticked 'other' and emailed the RFU to complain about their use of such an offensive term in a questionnaire.

There is no woman option littlebrowndog. It's Cis Woman, Cis Man, Transgender, Non Binary or Other.

Sounds like they are already captured, if they are using offensive terms like cis.
The logical and science based way to word the question is Sex: male/female

If they want to establish if respondents are transgender, they could ask a separate question about it, eg:
Do you have a “gender identity” Yes/no
If yes, does it differ from your sex. Yes/no.

That way, the vast majority of people simply answer the question on physical sex, and skip the next bit. And nobody will be offended or forced to engage with the creed of gender ideology if they are non believers.
