In this series of tweets Davina says that women being killed is rare (tell that to the 118 women whose names were read out by Jess Phillips (& their families))

And goes on to victim blame, saying that she wouldn't walk home in the dark.

I had my crotch grabbed at 15 in the bright sunshine of early morning rush hour on a busy main road by a man walking by me as I walked to the bus stop to school in full view of passing traffic. Should I have not gone out in daylight too?

Gurufloof · 12/03/2021 14:56

Sigh ^^ so women

time4anothername · 12/03/2021 15:02

@CheltenhamLady it is confusing the way the Common is referred to. The search did cover the whole common but the route she took is a very busy road that cuts through the common, the A205 South circular, in fact, one of the busiest roads in London.

I'm assuming part of the reason for Sarah's long walk is because we've been told to avoid public transport because of covid. So I suspect she thought she was doing the safe thing by walking. And to be clear, I'm not saying anything was her fault, quite the opposite.

SunsetBeetch · 12/03/2021 15:20

Bloody hell, Davina!

MissBarbary · 12/03/2021 15:28

@TheRabbitOfCaerbannog

Won't someone think of the mens!
To be fair quite a few of the men aren't thinking of the men.

Indeed. We are told to stay off public transport and are guilted for car use. Millions is being put in to getting Londoners to walk or cycle and nowhere have I seen any discussion on how to make this safer for everyone www.sustrans.org.uk/streetspace-for-london/

Divina is mainly fixated on getting affirmation so she’ll be crying into her pillow tonight about the negative feedback. Here’s a sketch I like by Tracey Ullman about victim blaming logic. fb.watch/4bg-vDvapc/

All these women have been killed, by men, this month already, and it's only 12th March

You could curfew all men and then some dick would put a wig on and say it was in his rights to claim to be a woman and to be able to break the curfew and harrass women.

SweatyPie · 12/03/2021 16:35

@CattyCactus

“And men’s mental health is an issue too” Jeez. It’s all about the poor fucking men.

The worst part is it makes no sense. Is she saying men are offended at women speaking out?

If she's making a general point about MH then this equally irrelevant to the rest of the tweet.

CattyCactus · 12/03/2021 17:13

@SweatyPie - yes, I can only assume she’s implying that all this talk of men being violent and threatening towards women is potentially damaging to their MH.
Shame eh.
Shame I don’t care as much as I do about the actual threats and issues women face every day just trying to live their lives.

dratalanta · 12/03/2021 18:30

Rule 12: Women’s ability to recognize male behaviour patterns is misandry.

with a side-order of our old favourite -
Rule 10: The worst thing about male violence is that it makes men look bad.

She’s an obnoxious woman in my opinion and her tweets have validated that to me

PearlescentIridescent · 13/03/2021 01:18

How fucking shitty of her, so disappointing to hear other women talk like this

And given how the public statistics point out that over 70% of women murder victims are killed in their own bloody home it seems doubly ridiculous to criticise a wiman for daring to think she can walk home :(

Many women do out of necessity so good for her if she "wouldn't". Ergh.
