This is a great compilation of the key arguments made. Well worth a watch.

That documentary was fantastic! Must have taken someone ages to piece all that together.

I had no idea who Magdalen Berns was until this video. I instantly fell in love with that content, and have now found out she's dead.

Bit of a sad note to end the night.

Absolutely cracking YouTube movie though.

Excellent compilation!

"Karen Actually" is on Twitter.

Relatively new account with not many followers - she deserves more ❤️ !

CouchBettato I came to this issue about a week before Magdalen Burns passed away. I only started watching her videos on the anniversary of her passing.

They're brilliant - such a dry wit. It's definitely worth looking up her old videos.

Just watched it. It's extremely thought-provoking and hardhitting and wide-ranging for a talking heads documentary.

@EdgeOfACoin Me too. Almost exactly that same time.

This is an amazing piece of work. I started watching without realising it was feature length! Every single bit of it relevant though.

Magdalene Burns and Dr Jane Claire Jones (interviewed by Glinner) really stood out for me. Also Scott Newgent towards the end. In fact, ALL of it.

I think it's a great 'way in' for anyone overwhelmed and confused by the arguments and online Twitter storms,

Watched it last night with DH. I also really enjoyed Jennifer Bilek and her analysis. Also the young lesbian woman who spoke about having been in a cult and popping out - who was she? And who is the American transwoman at the very start?

I wonder if it would be a good start for someone who is woke tho, is that what others think? I think in parts some in it could be a bit sneering - understand why and agree with the points underneath that condescension but I think for a wokester that could be enough for them to dismiss the content. I realise the irony of what I’m saying since the whole message of how we have consistently been condescended and far worse by men - but do you get what I am asking? Would you forward this to a friend who was not open to the debate?

I think I’m asking as DH was commenting on this and he felt there was an absence of stats, he really liked the psychiatrist from the Tavistock and the other contributors with more of that detail. He is generally convinced by the GC argument but I think is v sensitive to the perception that ‘man hate’ informs feminism and liable to find someone who is demonstrably angry less credible. I’ve highlighted it’s all part of ‘be kind’ and socially not ok for women to be angry - but I understand his point as well and am thinking about how the message is received with all peoples existing biases.

I’m thinking out loud really, wanting to become more ‘out’ GC in RL but am afraid. Know there are lots of efforts in FWR to gather the stats and evidence and I think I need to know them thoroughly, to feel confident to put my head above the parapet at work, for example.

Merename the young lesbian is Benji who goes by the handle gnc_centric. She was on the early 'The Mess We're In' YouTube webcasts with Graham Linehan and Arty Morty (later ones have been with Helen Staniland).

Her comments were always so insightful. I think she has her own channel now.

I think the American transwoman you mention is Blair White.

So is he saying that women aren't allowed to be angry about what is happening to us?

Also, which woman did he consider to be angry in the video?

It may be worth compiling links to the source material in this thread. Here are some:

David Bell on Channel 4 News

(YouTube only has clips now - this might be the full version on Spotify, but I guess you have to subscribe?)

(So super lol to the comment above "I can't see the likes of serious feminists like Jane Clare Jones and Sheila Jeffries agreeing to be in a video with Posie Parker". The Jeffreys clips came from a Posie Parker interview!)

I think this is an awesome video
I’m in a ladies group on fb and decided I’d share it. Surprise surprise my post seems to have been ignored!
I found a conversation from June discussing JKR, most comments were either negative or uneducated on the subject. 2000+ women who really have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is an update from Blaire White on JKR

I haven't watched the whole compiled video but I assume Blaire White is being included because, although she would never call herself a feminist her views sit well with being"gender critical"/ safeguarding etc. If so, I'm mildly amused at the irony of this compiled video being done in Magdalen Bern's name given the sneering videos Berns made about Blaire White.

Because all the content is made elsewhere as far as I can see, none is original for this video. And I can't see the likes of serious feminists like Jane Clare Jones and Sheila Jeffries agreeing to be in a video with Posie Parker and Blaire White, let alone Jordan fucking Peterson.

Agree. I don't know enough about SJ, PP or BW, to comment, but I don't think JCJ would happily take part in a video that attempted to align her views with those of JP.
