Apologies if this has already been commented on.

But it will NEVER happen.

I feel so sorry for that poor girl.

Itsagiven · 18/12/2020 08:25

It’s the fact that he was out on license and on a curfew for 7 previous sexual assaults FFS Angry He admits to ‘cross-dressing’ on the night of the latest incident (Sept 2019) whilst most reports are saying he was ‘disguised’ as a woman. The reporting suggests that they did not believe he was trans (and I’m being correct in stating a ‘cross-dresser’ comes under the transgender umbrella category of transvestite)

The images are terrifying. He’s got 5 and a half years now. It would appear that his dressing as a woman may have been a feature of his previous attacks too given the judge’s wording.

The victim’s statement was heartbreaking.

RealityNotEssentialism · 18/12/2020 08:27

Never happens tho? This is just an anecdote (despite the conviction by a criminal court). Counts for nothing.

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 18/12/2020 08:27

At least now he's been sentenced to prison, women will be safe for him.

It's not like it will be possible for him to identify as a woman and be given access to the most vulnerable females in our society by being put in a women's prison...

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/12/2020 08:27

I thought JK Rowling made this scenario up?

MaudTheInvincible · 18/12/2020 08:36

@Ereshkigalangcleg

I thought JK Rowling made this scenario up?

When JKR wrote that book it was the first and only time anybody had thought that thought ever

AnyFucker · 18/12/2020 08:38

This never happens. No sirree.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 18/12/2020 08:54

I remember this. Technically, under the stonewall law...

Apollo440 · 18/12/2020 09:17

Under Stonewall"s definition this person is trans. And under self Id they can claim womanhood, no questions. I can't see TRAs tripping over themselves to claim their 'sister'. Funny that.
However, if they make no claim to be a transwoman (and I assume that they are allowed to do so, unlike the label cis which can be forceably applied) then they are and example of a man disguising themselves as a woman for nefarious purposes. Which never happens. And it transphobic to highlight this case because it raises the awkward question of how do you tell? I suppose after the event you'll know.
I remember citing Karen White as an example of the problems with self id and whether they believed they were a transwoman to be told 'yes they were and women do bad things too'.🙄

aliasundercover · 18/12/2020 09:32

Cross dressing is part of trans. Acceptance without exception

Stonewall couldn't have made it any clearer, this attack was made by a woman.

AbsintheFriends · 18/12/2020 09:49

How long until this becomes JKR's fault for putting the idea in men's heads?

Then we direct them to Peter Samuel Cook.
ChoosandChipsandSealingWax · 18/12/2020 10:06

Nope never happens....

Heartbreaking - that poor, poor girl.

Clymene · 18/12/2020 10:06

Why is this person a man dressed as a woman when this person is described as a woman: Blackpool woman accessed child abuse images in hospital bed https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-53410019

What's the difference between them? Is it literally because they say so? Confused

1st Rule of Misogyny: women are responsible for what men do.

Spittingchestnuts · 18/12/2020 10:15

Don't apologise for posting this op. People need to know; as the parent of a 17 yr DD old hoping to go to uni next year, I find this as scary as hell.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 18/12/2020 10:33

Well this and being told that sex work is a super way to help with your budgeting...

Clymene · 18/12/2020 10:37

That poor girl. How terrifying.

It has made me think of a screenshot I saw from Reddit where young women would do if there were no men in the works for 24 hours. So many of them said they'd go out for a walk or run at night.

The fact that we live in a world where women and girls aren't able to do that breaks my heart.

queenofknives · 18/12/2020 10:44

How can the papers tell the difference between a man disguising himself as a woman and a transwoman? Presumably he is too thick to claim to be trans. If he'd said he was trans and that she'd given him a suspicious look in the ladies loos he might well have gotten away with it.

Winesalot · 18/12/2020 10:55

I can't see TRAs tripping over themselves to claim their 'sister'.

I have seen quite a few on twatter saying ‘look, it is an isolated incident. You can’t use this to spread more hate’.* I am paraphrasing.

My question, which I am sure will go unanswered, is how many more women and children being harmed will it take to strengthen safeguarding for women and children.

The purpose for dressing up matters not. The fact it was an attack outside of a single sex space doesn’t matter either. What matters is the male propensity for sex offending continues regardless of gender identity.

To continue to deny this is just putting women and children at needless increased risk.

RealityNotEssentialism · 18/12/2020 11:03

I have seen quite a few on twatter saying ‘look, it is an isolated incident. You can’t use this to spread more hate’. I am paraphrasing.*

The problem is that there have been dozens of these ‘isolated incidents’ over the past few years. Always MTF as well, not the other way around. Often very violent or sexual offences, frequently with female or child victims. If this concerned eg attacks on trans people, there is no way that the TRAs would accept a dismissal that they were isolated incidents. I mean they claim there is an epidemic of trans murders and there is zero evidence of it. Yet they dismiss real tangible evidence of male violence from people who dress or ID as female, suggesting that having an ‘inner feminine essence’ does precisely zero to reduce any risk of offending.

AnyFucker · 18/12/2020 11:11

This is simply more proof that despite what you call yourself, what you wear and how others may try to gaslight us...males retain male patterns of offending. That's it, really.

Still regardless of it being a man/woman/transgender/wtv, a girl was sexually assaulted!! Angry

But what really worries me is that this weirdo could have gone in a public toilet. Looks like more than ever women DO need to go to the bathroom in groups!!

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 18/12/2020 12:47

Oh but fear not, little and weak ladies!

Stonewall are coming to rescue us wimmin... well some of us anyway.
