Apologies if this has already been commented on.

There's a disturbing video of him in his costume twitter.com/metpoliceuk/status/1339817184709795843?s=21

No need to blame JKR, Hitchcock used the killer in a dress in Psycho in 1960 and Brian de Palma in Dressed to Kill in 1980. The idea has been around a long time.

DrDavidBanner · 18/12/2020 13:26

We have a Trans Day of Remembrance to commemorate the epidemic of 0 trans people being killed to violence this year. But actual women and girls actually being assulted and abused by people who come under the umbrella are collateral and not to be discussed.

The worst thing bout male violence is talking about male violence.

Helmetbymidnight · 18/12/2020 13:31

And don't forget Toady dressed as a washer woman to escape prison in 1908.

SophocIestheFox · 18/12/2020 13:32

Those images are very upsetting. That poor girl. I hope she has good support around her and can get over this without too much impact in her life.

The answer to “how many isolated incidents would it take to retire the concept of “this never happens” “ is either N+1, or Shut The Fuck Up T*RF, I forget which it is that we do on Fridays.

@Helmetbymidnight

And don't forget Toady dressed as a washer woman to escape prison in 1908.
And Bonnie Prince Charlie...
Passmeabottlemrjones · 18/12/2020 15:15

So, if this person decided that they want to go to a women's prison, Lisa Nandy and Co would believe it was their human right to be able to do that?

Passmeabottlemrjones · 18/12/2020 15:18

What is the difference between this person and a 'self identifying transwoman'? The transwoman declares they feel female? I don't get it!

RealityNotEssentialism · 18/12/2020 15:18

@Passmeabottlemrjones

Presumably. Anyone who says they are a woman is a woman according to them.
janinlondon · 18/12/2020 15:23

Definitely never happened to my cousin in her own front garden in 1970. It never been happening for a very long time.

QueenOfJammyDodgers · 18/12/2020 15:41

Terrifying. Imagine him chasing after you like that as a teenage girl. Sickening and demented and mentally scarring.

I have never heard of Stonewall before and am sympathetic to genuine transgender people but cross dressers disturb me. It seems to be a sexually driven seedy thing.

I remember there was a man in Suffolk who dressed up as a woman and picked up and murdered several sex workers. He used to work in Norwich in a red light district area and if memory serves me correctly he ran a pub there with his wife. Still quite a few cold cases of girls and women who were prostitutes and went missing from Norwich I hope the police looked into him although I'm sure they must've.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 18/12/2020 15:42

And don't forget Toady dressed as a washer woman to escape prison in 1908.

Earl of Nithsdale 1716 - escaped Tower of London dressed as a woman.

Jack Sheppard 1724 smuggled out of Newgate prison in womens' clothing.

Though both men had women accomplices so may not deserve credit for the idea.

Must be nice to live in a world were such behavior is an isolated incident rather than a well know pattern of behavior to be wary of.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/12/2020 15:57

Lisa Nandy and Co would believe it was their human right to be able to do that?

Judging by what she said about another sex offender when she was questioned by Julia Long at a Labour hustings, yes.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 18/12/2020 16:07

Whatever happened to the man (probably) who was roaming around a small English village at night, scaring the beejezus out of people?

My impression was that the gimp man (or men?) were identified by police but nothing happened... asp definitely crossing the ‘yuk’ line.

It’s almost as if the police don’t really understand sex crimes.

QueenOfJammyDodgers · 18/12/2020 16:56

Have there been any studies done on men who cross dress and sexual assault against women?

NewlyGranny · 18/12/2020 18:08

Has there ever been an occurrence of male violence against women that hasn't been dismissed as an 'isolated incident' I wonder? It's a phrase that police forces trot out every time a woman is murdered by a partner or ex, with reassurance that there is no threat to anybody else.

How many isolated incidents does it take to make a pattern? If n is the number of isolated incidents, it's always n+1, somehow.

And of course this man, in his skirt and wig, is not a real trans person, despite falling comfortably under Stonewall's umbrella. Because real trans people are never a threat, only threatened.

JohnMcClane · 18/12/2020 18:28

Its just so tiresome. A poor woman has been sexually assulted and will forever carry that trauma with her and all those dickheads on thattwitter thread are just desperate to sweep it under the carpet.

Sickens me

EarthSight · 19/12/2020 09:51

Never happens.

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 19/12/2020 10:02

These things are always "isolated incidents", and they will continue to be "isolated incidents" no matter how many times they happen. Never a pattern. Never a series of dots which can be joined. Nothing systemic. Just a series of individuals and their individual failings. Don't try and analyse it at class level, that's mean and bigoted. Basic pattern recognition skills are cruel and unfair when they hurt men's feelings. And remember, men don't even need to dress as women to attack us, so therefore they never do. Glad we cleared that up.

Clymene · 19/12/2020 10:05

Yes, always isolated incidents. Like the thread which was deleted yesterday where women were discussing online women's fora becoming dominated by transwomen. Just lots of isolated incidents

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 19/12/2020 10:05

Men taking advantage and taking what they want

Whatwouldscullydo · 19/12/2020 10:07

Oh look another thread about stuff that never happens and would never happen.

EarthSight · 19/12/2020 10:23

I had to love the mental gymnastics of a certain individual on the comments on Twitter to this video. I can't find the comments now. Points to anyone who can find them. Maybe they've been deleted? They were basically blaming women for this behaviour, saying that because we've been saying all along it will happen, it now has actually happened because we've implanted the idea into the heads of disturbed individuals.......because it's all our fault you see. If all of us bitches would simply shut up and keep quiet, men wouldn't commit sex crimes.

The phenomenon of abusers finding ways to abuse is not women's fault. It's been going on forever.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 19/12/2020 10:27

Anyone we know?

justanotherneighinparadise · 19/12/2020 11:08

I’ve just enjoyed the ratios on Twitter.

So sorry for the victim. I hope this scum bag is actually monitored correctly after his sentence as he’s obviously going to do it again.

queenofknives · 19/12/2020 11:14

I'm so sick of this. And telling us we can't even talk about it. Deleting threads.

Men dressing up as women and claiming to be women because they get sexual kicks out of it or as a way to access victims and get out of jail. It's so obvious that this is what's going on. If you can't see it you're wilfully blind, and if you stop women from talking about it, you are enabling it. It doesn't matter if it's a man 'disguised' as a woman or a man claiming to 'be' a woman - it's the same fucking thing.
