If anyone is logged in to Twitter can you unroll Eva's thread?

gardenbird48 · 03/12/2020 13:03

just wow! Is she living in an alternate universe maybe?

gardenbird48 · 03/12/2020 13:05

hi @rogdmum btw, hope your child is doing well in light of recent events.

EdgeOfACoin · 03/12/2020 13:14

I've only watched a few minutes. Apparently the Keira Bell ruling means that children won't be deemed competent enough to choose their exams (presumably GCSE options) in future.

Do these people really believe the nonsense they spout?

rogdmum · 03/12/2020 13:17

Thanks gardenbird we’ve got other stuff going on so I’m not even sure she’s aware of events

Gender GP are now collecting their data from five years and publishing them.

Is this going to be Jolyons new evidence, I do hope so.

My take away from that is webberley thinks its the child who should lead the decisions and the Tavistock in asking children if they are sure, are being too cautious.

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 03/12/2020 13:24

Wry smile at the idea that transactivists need to be more visible. Why? They've achieved so much chipping away at our organisations in secret.

Winesalot · 03/12/2020 13:25

That is most concerning. And sadly, on par for the course when your entire business of based on this one money stream.

It is heartening to see a growing number of transpeople who are talking about how mermaids has gone too far. But they are still few and far between.

Somebody didn't get the Dentons memo.

"Young people need the prescriptions."

HW needs the income.

Floisme · 03/12/2020 13:51

That GCSE analogy is piss poor anyway. I've never come across a mainstream UK school that would allow a child to drop let's say, English, maths and science at age 13 or 14. They make those subjects compulsory because they are responsible grown ups.

PaleBlueMoonlight · 03/12/2020 13:58

Fascinating. The fact she sees the psychological treatment provided by the Tavistock as an unnecessary obstacle before the actual treatment provided by endocrinologists really shows that this is an ideologically driven service that sees changing children’s bodies as the only relevant aspect of transgenderism.

Thingybob · 03/12/2020 14:15

Apparently it will also have "ramifications" on under 18s being able to consent to anything, like voting or driving a car.

Marianne is not the brightest spark.

Could you imagine anybody seriously suggesting that, from now on, children will be required to chose 1 subject for GCSE, which they will be required to stick with for life?

They will be locked in to continuing with that 1 subject through 6th form and, depending on the subject, through to apprenticeship (if they can find one) or university (if they can get a place) and it will be the only career path they will be allowed to pursue.

That would rightly be shot down, instantly, as insane.

SunsetBeetch · 03/12/2020 14:20

The woman is utterly shameless Shock

yourhairiswinterfire · 03/12/2020 14:23

She mentions that the Tavi gave no decent evidence on purpose.

There were whispers after the ruling too that it may have been deliberate because they wanted out of what's happening, they wanted the decisions taken out of their hands, pointing to the large number of staff that had quit in a short time.

This was only on Twitter, so of course I only took it with a pinch of salt, but I do wonder how likely that is? They really made themselves look like incompetent fools, I'm not sure they'd make such a show of themselves deliberately? Or that they'd bother to appeal if they were secretly happy with the result.

PaleBlueMoonlight · 03/12/2020 14:23

Marianne is their lead counsellor.

Marianne appears to be saying that anyone attending a GP wanting treatment should be given treatment because they wouldn't have asked for it if they weren't trangender.

They don't want medical professionals trying to understand whether a child is sure.

Helen Webberley also a great line in giving partial information from the judgment, but not the full reasoning as to why the decision was made.

LizzieSiddal · 03/12/2020 14:24

I wonder if the GMC would be interested in what she's up to?

DickKerrLadies · 03/12/2020 14:32

Gender GP are now collecting their data from five years and publishing them.

One can only wonder why they didn't feel the need to do this before the JR... Hmm

ErrolTheDragon · 03/12/2020 14:36

Apparently it will also have "ramifications" on under 18s being able to consent to anything, like voting or driving a car.

Under 18s mostly aren't allowed to vote in serious elections.
Unsupervised driving requires having passed a pretty rigorous test.

Choosing GCSEs unwisely may have ramifications on future choices, but only to a limited and never insuperable extent.

MondayYogurt · 03/12/2020 14:37

How much is she making from all this? Can we see the company financials?

BaronessWrongCrowd · 03/12/2020 14:38

Five years of data from a discredited business who is fronted by a former GP? (I say former because I believe they were struck off by the GMC). Hmmm

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 03/12/2020 14:47

”Marianne is encouraging that people take the GP pack to their GPs to "chip away at the resistance".
Resistance to riding roughshod over safeguarding?!

There must be legal repercussions to pushing against such a clear judicial decision surely?

Extraordinary. Thank you Rogd & Eva
