Sounds good to me. Theo is fab, have known him for ages.
Having "difficulties" with the emails I've been getting, they don't like my responses!

OhHolyJesus · 03/08/2020 19:02

Are they going to expel you Cat? 😆
Problem is the Greens are small and can't really afford to lose members and their monthly donations.

Does anyone know how many members left the greens, or Labour over trans focused policies? It would be good to see some numbers but I expect everyone has been navel gazing and not noticed.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 03/08/2020 19:29

Thanks, Letterem! I took the plunge and joined the Greens in order to vote in these elections, because I voted Green for many years until the identity politics outweighed all else.

EyesOpening · 08/08/2020 14:49

Do you know what Cleo Lake’s opinion is on GC or are you voting for her due to something else? Thanks

EyesOpening · 08/08/2020 14:50

Hi, @EyesOpening,
Cleo Lake is not gender critical, but I get the impression this is not something that she has taken much notice of up until recently. Unfortunately, she appears to be embracing the trans ideology as time goes on, but she words it carefully. I would vote for her mainly to keep out Amelia Womack who is 100% trans loved up.

thanks. Are you quite clued up on / been following all the nominees? i.e. are your reasons for all your votes (whether that be that they are or tactical) to do with GC?
ScreamingBeans · 09/08/2020 08:11

I'm voting, vwould be grateful if someone could point towards a list of people who haven't drunk the Kool Aid (or is that it, OP?)

letterem · 09/08/2020 11:08

@EyesOpening I try to keep my ear to the ground. There are some people who are not GC - Molly Scott Cato, for example, but sometimes it is the case of choosing what is the best on offer.
I have been following the hustings and engaging online in discussions, so I am confident in my choices.
@ScreamingBeans The list is Kool aid free apart from Cleo - who is on the fence, and Molly, who is better than the alternative.

@letterem

Do you know if there is a way to sign up for the emails from the green feminist group referred to in this tweet? Seems like only people who are signed up got an email but I can't find it on google.

PS. this Rosi4Leader seems dreadful, later in the thread comparing feminists to racists and fossil fuel lobbyists. Does she have a realistic chance as leader?

letterem · 10/08/2020 03:22

hi @Greenup you could try messaging them on facebook - I dont know their email address
www.facebook.com/GreenFeminists/
I don't know about Rosi's chances of wining- sadly i fear they are quite high

You should all vote for the brave and dashing non-binary person here:

Replies are priceless.

Deliriumoftheendless · 10/08/2020 09:20

Having looked at that thread and seen the dungaree picture I now realise Geoffrey, Bungle et al bravely started all this.

I mean the show was even called Rainbow.

Actually, thinking about it it’s go down a storm these days.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 10/08/2020 10:42

The whole idea of 'non-binary' can only exist because the old sex stereotypes have been revived and elevated to the status of 'gender identity'. What does non-binary mean, other than rejecting both masculine and feminine stereotypes -- the same stereotypes that feminists routinely reject?

By Woke standards, most second-wave feminists would seem to be non-binary. I wonder how long it will take for the Woke to realise that all they've done is reanimate the corpse of sex-stereotyping -- something that even society in general was letting go of?

letterem · 10/08/2020 11:27

Tom , the non-binary who described the question ' what is a woman?' asked during the hustings as ' heavily loaded' and said ' I don't think we should be getting into political debate about the specifics of what it is to be a woman'

OP posts:
Ihaventgottimeforthis · 10/08/2020 12:06

I left the Greens over this, and have sadly not seen enough in their policies and proposals on anything else to make it worth me returning.
As someone who has been immersed in the environmental sector, both professionally and personally, for pver 20 years, that makes me sad, and mad.

Catmaiden · 11/08/2020 01:23

Having serious problems with my membership!

letterem · 11/08/2020 09:22

I respect peoples decisions to leave the GP, but if you do leave, please could you send an email to the green party HQ to tell them why you left, as they are still in complete denial that members are leaving over this issue. It may make it easier for those of us who are going to stay to demonstrate that this is not the popular policy the HQ think it is.

[/quote] and then said "I think a lot of people here know what a woman is" - I'm not sure which way to take that!

Thanks for the help.

GreenChris · 11/08/2020 17:40

email [email protected]

And here is a link to suggested voting list prioritising those with an understanding of the importance of sex-based rights of women and girls:

Catmaiden · 11/08/2020 23:43

@letterem, not thinking of leaving, what I meant by my comment above is that I'm having difficulty with them not replying to me re joining, despite them taking my money before the deadline to rejoin!
Abd, not responding to any emails, at all, and no written communication

Catmaiden · 12/08/2020 14:48

Finally got my access to the members website reinstated, got on there and have voted!

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 14/08/2020 18:10

Thanks for this information, GreenChris. I tried to PM you but for some reason I could not send it -- it simply would not send. Anyway, I've voted and am now keeping fingers crossed we have some effect. It's a cause I've always supported and it should never have been taken over by misogynists.

EyesOpening · 29/08/2020 16:12

Hi @letterem I notice there was one more section

Policy Development Committee

do you have any suggestions for this one too, please?
Thanks
