@Forgivenandsetfree there's some really sad stuff going on and I wish I could say that it will all be ok but with these things you can never tell. I do honestly think more and more people are seeing how destructive some of this is. I hope things work out for your friend.

My grandson is 21 and the other is 15 and both have been brought up to respect the rights of others, but they both really don't get what's going on. 15 year old said they had a few sessions on trans issues at school but he said he felt as though they couldn't ask questions and so he had felt embarrassed to talk about it at home. It wasn't until I asked what they both thought about these issues that we learned he'd felt he was being transphobic if he talked about it at all.

@highame Yes it's really scary, like 1984, come to life! My ex used to say this all the time but as he was so outrageous with other conspiracy theories I was quite skeptical...
I was trying to explain it to my mum and step-dad, that I agree, a person can do whatever they please, but once they're attempting to stamp on others rights, especially those of us (women) who struggled hard to get these rights in the first place.. well, the gloves are off!

Yes - "gender" is a social construct, but one which the genderists try to claim is reality and pretend (I doubt honestly believe) that sex is a mere construct.

I was sneeringly told how idiotic I was by a prominent Australian academic and one of her followers for failing to understand this very thing. They informed me that the language describing it was a mere construct, of course.

It was a surreal conversation that I am sure they believed was highly intelligent but it was arrogant, elitist, and completely detached from reality.
