Sick and tired of being banned from social media and cancelled for telling the truth, women are taking back the public square, one corner at a time.

At 2pm on Sunday 2nd August, women will gather at the foot of the Mound/Princes St in Edinburgh, reviving the tradition of free speech at the site of the historical Speakers’ Corner.

In the current climate of cancel culture, there is a new urgency to demonstrate the right to free speech. Women will describe how they have been harassed, threatened, silenced and fired for daring to define themselves.

Social distancing will be strictly observed and guest speakers will also be live streamed on For Women Scotland YouTube for those who prefer to stay at home.

After the live stream ends, all women are invited to speak for approximately 2 minutes.

unfortuantly the National Galleries are still closed but it looks like the loos at cough nortorious anti women Network Rail Station Waverly are still open about 5 mins walk from the mound

I'll be there. It's a bit of a trek but loos at John Lewis are open or if you ask nicely for the key the one at the Costa in st Andrews square.

I’ve found there is a train I can get which is nicely timed so I’ll be there.

Jenners is just across the road and will be open. Waverley Mall has toilets.

Well I believe free speech is getting outlawed in Scotland soon and you won’t be able to express wrong think without risking a seven year jail sentence with your intentions (no matter how innocent) being no defence if the powers that be decide that your sincerely held opinions that you just expressed are not acceptable opinions. This is what happens when a nation chooses to elect authoritarian left wing parties I suppose. Please be careful :)

That's totally understandable ItsAllGoingToBeFine. I wouldn't have been attending if my partner wasn't taking me there and back by car. I'd rather avoid public transport for as long as possible.
