Does anyone know what has merited this vow to educate herself? Can’t find what she’s referring to!

Banksy was a street artist, he called attention to those artist out there who didn't have galleries or studios, he is rarely in front of the cameras, I can't imagine him doing an interview like the sculpture in Bristol.

He did the tube graffiti and it got washed off, he didn't come out to have a rant. He'll just quietly do another one where it doesn't impact on staff having to do the cleaning.

There's the difference

Essentially what cancel culture does is allow anyone who is extremely rich and powerful to speak their mind, while everyone else has to keep quiet or recite the acceptable list of beliefs or risk losing their job. You'd think the "lefties" who claim to care about workers' rights and the power gulf between the rich and poor would see that.

@ValancyRedfern

Is there a way I can send her my support? If she's off twitter what would be the best way to contact her?
She's posted stories on Instagram. If you tap on her photo, you can pm her. I just did to tell her that she didn't need to apologise but my heart sank at her most recent story. She's definitely being gagged. 🙁

Didn't mean to derail. I think there are problems with the fact that young people listen to those in the entertainment industry. They are influential and more so than they should be, the mob then grabs hold of any mantra and off they go, so the Amanda Abbingtons of the world (women of course) go under the bus.

it appears that many in the entertainment industry don't care. I suppose this is so long as it's not their jobs

Lottapianos · 20/07/2020 11:29

Shes back on Twitter. I sent her a supportive tweet and told her she had nothing to apologise for

ValancyRedfern · 20/07/2020 11:44

Thanks. I've replied to her on Twitter.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/07/2020 13:47

Bless her, I really feel for her.

But as a PP said that was definitely a Tweet posted with a gun to her head.

A Jeremiah Denton Tweet, if ever i saw one!

I think the most significant thing about celebrities making statements on this issue is who has not said anything....

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Eddie redmayne all jumped on the opportunity to bad mouth jk Rowling as soon as they could be briefed by their pr agencies..... But where are the rest of them? Robbie Coltrane, jude law? Holiday grainger? It's only really those that have disagreed with her that have come forward....

As for AA, she is professionally linked to benedict cumberbatch, Mark gatiss, Andrew Scott.... If they could score easy points by leaping forward and saying TWAW right now, I think they would.... the silence, though, is deafening and more significant than the few faces who have come forward....

BigBadVoodooHat · 20/07/2020 15:42

Yes, that’s an interesting point: silence speaks volumes, sometimes.

Was it pink and blue baseball bats covered in barbed wire pictures that were sent to her and Martin Freeman?

Because that tells a very specific story
