Every Saturday morning her comment is the first thing I read in the Times and she never disappoints:

Janice nails it yet again. Star

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 27/06/2020 11:10

Excellent article. Thank you, Janice.

BillyCotton · 27/06/2020 11:15

Janice Turner always writes brilliant pieces in the Times but every so often she completely blows me away. Just when you think she can't top that here she has, again.

GrouchyKiwi · 27/06/2020 11:27

Brilliant article. Thanks for sharing.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 27/06/2020 11:31

She’s just so talented - fabulous article.

& I have Lamahaha to blame for my soggy face!

truthisarevolutionaryact · 27/06/2020 11:56

Agree with all the comments on here. And interestingly there are over 600 comments from men and womenunder that article - many just getting to grips with what's happening with 99% of them horrified.
This is finally not just a feminist issue - it's everyone's issue.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 27/06/2020 12:03

This is finally not just a feminist issue - it's everyone's issue.

Indeed. First they came for the feminists, but you were a fool if you thought they'd stop there.

NotAGirl · 27/06/2020 12:09

Brilliant article

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 27/06/2020 12:23

I'm going to subscribe to the Times now. They seem to be fearless and ahead of the curve on this issue, and have the absolute best writers.

MorrisZapp · 27/06/2020 12:27

Absolutely barnstorming. There was a really good piece about cancel culture in yesterday's Times too.

Mollyollydolly · 27/06/2020 12:29

Janice is such a fantastic writer. The anger I've felt all week, she articulates it so well. Made me tearful seeing it all there in black and white. It's so bloody unfair! What a woman she is.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 27/06/2020 12:34

Wowee, that's dynamite; Janice Turner never fails to impress me.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 27/06/2020 13:04

Yep. I've noticed them going after gay men more now too. We tried to warn them.

Most of the young whiney fuckers on twitter have no clue of the things the Baroness has done during her life. They came for her simply because she is a friend of JKR so must be taken down.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 27/06/2020 13:06

Yep. I've noticed them going after gay men more now too.

I'm actually glad about this. Once it starts impacting men there will begin to be more pushback.

DrudgeJedd · 27/06/2020 13:11

I see the thin-skinned misogynistic shitweasle Damian Barr has locked his Twitter again. He's spent the last week traducing the reputation of a woman with decades of altruism & hard work to her name but he will not countenance a single challenge to his cruel behaviour. I hope the women writers who cheered him on read Janice's words & feel a tiny flutter of shame at what they have enabled.

teawamutu · 27/06/2020 13:41

It's why I ditched my Guardian subscription and switched to the Times. Never once regretted it.
ErrolTheDragon · 27/06/2020 13:55

Im so glad there's a brilliant female writer who seems uncancellable - joined now by JKR.Grin

Coyoacan · 27/06/2020 14:10

Brilliant article as always

RoyalCorgi · 27/06/2020 17:06

I notice the historian Tom Holland has come off the fence and tweeted Janice's article with the comment:

"Why would people gun for Baroness Nicholson but not Lord Willetts (who so far as I am aware has never done a thing for the Yazidis?) Why J K Rowling, a woman of astonishing achievement & generosity, but not Tyson Fury?"

Why indeed. Why indeed.

Blue5238 · 27/06/2020 23:25

Has anyone got a new share token? Would like to read

RufustheRowlingReindeer · 27/06/2020 23:51

the hypocrisy and gall of Lord Willetts in signing that letter, when his voting record suggests he must share her views, is staggering. Did he believe that in disavowing a fellow Tory peer, he might himself be spared the firing squad? The mob still might come for him

I did not know this...what an utter tosspot

ItsLateHumpty · 27/06/2020 23:55

Thanks Errol

What an antidote to yesterday’s shit storm. Brew

RufustheRowlingReindeer · 27/06/2020 23:56

First they came for the feminists, but you were a fool if you thought they'd stop there

thats certainly pithy but its not got the same ring to it...
