I realise it's 48h since the piece on the Today programme on Friday, referenced on the first page of this thread, but it was an interesting interview. Is this evidence of a change in public discourse on this subject? - it's not nodebate. It seemed the BBC were tentatively acknowledging that the transgender ideology extremist position can occasionally be challenged.
Mark Damazer, chair of the Booker, claimed they had to abolish the positions because of the 'Weird Creature' tweet and another tweet about one of the judges - not sure what this one was? He also acknowledged the ongoing conflict between women's rights and the demands of the transgender movements.
Baroness Nicholson had a right to reply and was able to speak without interruption.
Mishal Hussein seemed to have a good grasp of the issues and asked the right questions.
I'm encouraged and there will have been a lot of listeners unaware of this topic who will have heard, and maybe will want to explore further.
