The ever entertaining TRA power couple Fox and Owl were apparently represented by the same agents as the wonderful Ms Rowling.

They, along with some bloke called Drew Davies, have severed ties because the agents refused to issue a public statement slagging off their biggest client.

Being bastions of professionalism they left by telling the guardian.

Cue grifting on Twitter in 3.. 2.. 1..

Presumably the 'eww gross' description is to challenge the fact that sex is actually recognised by genitalia.

🙄🙄🙄

@Ginkypig As someone who has both been born and given birth I can confirm there was no assigning, in fact as we already knew we were having a girl from the 20 week scan I’m not sure it was even mentioned other than the midwife saying “have you got a name for her?” The medical professionals in attendance were much more interested in confirming that mother and baby were well and didn’t need medical attention.

2nd rule of misogyny: Women saying no to men is a hate crime.
3rd rule of misogyny: Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and "selfish".

These grand public displays of male dominance are exhausting for everyone concerned, I think.

@WelcomeToTheMountaintop

It’s culs-de-sac you utter bigot

And it can identify as an Autobahn if it wants.

Road essentialist!

'Freedom of speech can only be upheld if the structural inequalities that hinder equal opportunities for underrepresented groups are challenged and changed.' load of waffle... Also a question linking to another piston feminism. The authors who quit donated money to shitika women's air, a Scottish charity who helps women of ethnic minorities who ha suffered domestic abuse. Is this charity different to women's aid and other rape charites branded transphobic?

Freespeecher · 22/06/2020 20:53

I look forward to reading about this in at least the Spectator, and probably elsewhere.

Igneococcus · 22/06/2020 20:54

If they think looking at the baby's genitals is the gross bit of child birth they will be in for a surprise if they should ever give birth.

@TheProdigalKittensReturn

I take back what I said about the person who edited Fox and Owl's book deserving a drink. Just over one page in and I found this.

In most cases, people are actually fine with this assignment (which means they’re cisgender.

Now, you're probably wondering if I forgot to copy part of that and that's why the closing parenthesis is missing, but no, dear reader, I did not. That's exactly how it appears in the book. Where is the closing parenthesis? Who knows? Maybe it identifies as closed.

By the end of page one the editor had resorted to a LOT of drinks.

Or maybe editing this one was a punishment for the editor. A punishment known as Going Gruffalo, in the industry perhaps?

Where is the closing parenthesis? Who knows? Maybe it identifies as closed. Grin love it

I believe this charity accepts the male bodied.
WatchoutfortheROUS · 22/06/2020 21:00

Who?

SerenityNowwwww · 22/06/2020 21:07

From the charity site

“We can help BME women experiencing domestic abuse who identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or intersex.“

(identify as... intersex?)

I'm leaning towards the suspicion that sense of humor is the one thing that all TRAs have surgically removed.

With the possible exception of Joss Prior I have to say that the sense-of-humour void amongst TRAs is absolutely tangible. It must be tough to be so po-faced all the time.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 22/06/2020 21:10

There's comments now. All very much of the "who?" and "err, freedom of speech?" way of thinking. Lots of support for JKR.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 22/06/2020 21:10

It does seem like a shitty way to live. No wonder they're so angry all the time.

PurpleHoodie · 22/06/2020 21:13

Thinkingabout1t · 22/06/2020 21:14

Shame, I've never heard of Fox Fisher, Drew Davies and Ugla Stefanía Kristjönudóttir Jónsdóttir or 'Owl Fisher. So I can't stop buying their books. I will make sure I never do buy any, or borrow them from the library, though.

You wouldn't believe this came from the BBC!

Comedian Tracey Ullman hosts a "support group" for people who are so "woke" that they are finding it impossible to have any fun at all.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 22/06/2020 21:22

This is very interesting, because agents pride themselves on being good at predicting which way the wind is blowing.
They had to take JKR’s side over Fox and Owl, of course, but they could have chosen to do it with more emollient language. With that glorious line about re-education they are nailing their colours to the mast.

Thinkingabout1t · 22/06/2020 21:24

we believe in freedom of speech for all; these clients have decided to leave because we did not meet their demands to be re-educated to their point of view

Magnificent! Oh how wonderful to read those words, and from an organisation that is standing up for JKR. Yes, she is undoubtedly their best client. But look how many companies that rely on female customers cave in to transactivists' demands.

Blair Partnership, you are a beacon of light in the transmurk.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 22/06/2020 21:27

Yes, that wording indicates that they're very confident that they won't face blowback worth worrying about for coming down on the side of reality and freedom of speech. Which is indeed interesting.

MindTheMinotaur · 22/06/2020 21:32

A few organisations standing firm against the trantrums will make everyone else that's capitulated look like a dick.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 22/06/2020 21:34

They're having a f***g laugh aren't they? Too woke for their own good. Boo hiss....
