Dr Em is now being threatened on twitter with doxxing by somebody who I think must be a friend of the author.

Vile people. Em is worth a million of them

@Melroses Thankyou, I have received an email from portsmouth education partnership just sending me a link to the council complaints, no word of any action they may take, her post is still up.

Follow the procedure and prepare to escalate onwards at each stage. You expect people to just do their jobs, but they tend to fob you off if it is going to be difficult. (Except my local planning enforcement - they seem to like a good fight Grin)

Seethefairfromtheair it might be best to phone first thing in the morning?

I saw the spat on Twitter today with someone about this toolkit. Someone else (Lily Maynard I think) made a comment about us having to do away with the 'good trans' 'bad trans' attitude and I think she has a real point. DH is never able to answer questions directly. I reckon DH's days of being a luvvy and rad-fem darling are soon to be over .

The NASUWT Guidance "Trans Equality in Schools and Colleges" seems to have been withdrawn. The original page returns a 404 error and nothing turns up from a site search.

I presume it has been replaced by this, I can't see a date on it:

"Equality for Trans Teachers"

www.nasuwt.org.uk/uploads/assets/uploaded/88965336-0820-4308-8a822f79a395e089.pdf

I haven't read it but there is no mention of "dual role" people, based on a word search, so that is an improvement at least.

I can't access the thread from the link in the OP.

@OvaHere not a surprise to me it’s what happens when you have no diversity of thought I think a lot of left wingers have Been delighted in the overwhelmingly left leanings of teachers and lecturers but now I sure many are seeing the down side

As a conservatives I think leftists are wrong about many things but I don’t think their evil and also I concede we need both for an instatutions to thrive

Right wingers act as a brake and leftists act as the gas to drive a car you need both and the moment their is far to much gas

It still talks about 'sex assigned at birth' and says

Use of toilets and changing facilities –staff who have declared their
trans status should be free to use the facilities appropriate to their self-
identified gender.

'should' is an important hedge. That 'should' does not give permission to use female only spaces because these are protected under EA10. They can access mixed sex toilets, and I think all schools ought to have at least one mixed sex toilet as a matter of course.

The guidance for what constitutes a mixed sex toilet is quite firm as described by the HSE. The TIMs, TIFs, NBs, and everyone else have always been free to use these ones.

(i think this may now be difficult to find but a couple years ago I probably downloaded it.).
