It's silly I know, but just seeing these names makes me feel more hopeful!

Hello James - love your articles

Also very glad James Dreyfus and Muriel gray are allies as I like them

Collidascope · 11/06/2020 16:17

I too love your articles, James. Your last one was wonderful. Thank you.

PenguindreamsofDraco · 11/06/2020 16:17

Jennifer Saunders retweeted JKR's article.

Collidascope · 11/06/2020 16:28

I wish Brian Cox would. He's got a huge platform and his wife Gia Milinovich gets it.

louisthetrumpetswan · 11/06/2020 16:31

This is good to read thanks.

@Ginkypig James has pointed to the homophobia and misogyny behind the trans movement - in the politest terms. Like he signed a petition or something. And he got jumped on to the extent that although he has a reasonably long history playing The Master in Doctor Who audio dramas, a guy who objected to him raised it with the production studio and they basically wrote him out of their publicity, including whitewashing him out of a planned special featuring all the living Masters. They also had a gay writer sacked for expressing views inconsistent with the trans ideology. @Glinner wrote a whole thing about it.
The production studio apparently believe that the intersection between Doctor Who fans and TRAs is quite strong and therefore have basically dropped him.
Someone wrote to Graham saying that games studios were also staying silent on the issue because of the very real possibility that TRAs and incels would write so many 1 star reviews that they would not only kill a game but the careers of all those who worked on the game and needed it to do well to make any money out of it.

Suzanne Moore has tweeted the boodleoops article mentioned in the OP. David Baddiel has retweeted that and Muriel Gray's tweet about the Body Shop as well.

It is so good to see the "grown ups" supporting JKR, she has had a torrid time of it.

Thanks for taking the time to fill me in.

I actually did have a quick look about last night and had found out about the doctor who thing.

I'm quite impressed by the little more I've seen and his polite views. My feeling is he probably on top of seeing women's sex based rights eroded he is seeing gay men being affected because lots of what would have gone to become as my lovely gay male family member who came out years before I was born would refer to as "wonderful flamboyant homosexuals" (always said with deep affection and respect!) are now due to not feeling as though they fit the standard perception of "male" are transitioning or labelling their gender as female before they have the chance to discover that they fit perfectly into the gay community just the way they are.

Of course if someone decides they are trans that is absolutely up to them and good luck to them!

I might be completely wrong though as I haven't seen him say any of that that. So if I am wrong James I do apologise!

Awning10 · 11/06/2020 17:25

Martina and Sharron.

Z0rr0 · 11/06/2020 17:31

No worries. He strikes me as someone who is just trying to live a quiet life and is not therefore massively vocal but he's not backtracking on stuff so I think he sees it for what it is.
And yes you're right about the trans erasing of gays and lesbians.
Maybe the LGB Alliance need an 'it's ok to be gay' campaign to help questioning teens accept their sexuality rather than reject their gender.

Not the first time Glenn Greenwald shows himself to be an utter arsehole.

Regardless of the debate, surely you can have so e sympathy for a victim of DV and sexual assault?

Was Snowden the only thing he did (and he nearly missed that!)?
