Selina Todd was brilliant on BBC Radio 4 Today. I was disappointed that Justin Webb's introduction suggested that it was Selina who identified the level of real threat to her safety. However, it seemed to come out in the wash that it was actually Oxford University following their prompt investigation.

As others have already said, why is this not being referred to the police? It amounts to domestic terrorism as much as personal threats. Or maybe it has been referred to the Police but we have not been told? It should surely be up to the University to do this under the Prevent programme rather than Selina?

This is not an attempt to derail by banging on about Evergreen and Yale. Our universities need to peer over the edge of the abyss, to see just how bad things can get when institutions allow identity politics to be weaponised by "social justice" campaigners who subvert democracy and natural justice, prevent freedom of expression and effectively ban critical thinking.

Selina Todd's point about these students being our future politicians and journalists - judges and scientists too - is as terrifying as anything that Extinction Rebellion can conjure up. Global Warming and Global Wokeness - what a horror show!

I think it's spot on to talk about where British universities could end up if they import more identity politics from the US and do nothing about the excesses that result.

The thing that struck me about the BBC coverage was this line:

So "male" staff members are providing protection. Now I wonder why that might be? Could it be that they have some sort of innate physical advantage?

I found it interesting that the sex of the security staff was specifically mentioned. I wonder if someone speaking to the press flagged that up but the journalist (or the journalist’s editor or producer) decided to be more circumspect.
