^It's all arse about tit. (local vernacular for wrong way round)
In the eighties, people like BG, Bowie and many others broadened the idea of what it is to be male. Ditto Alison Moyet refusing to conform to what the pop industry wanted from a "girl"^
But now ridiculous stereotypes are being reinforced. You can't be a feminine man, you must be a woman (and a real woman to boot). Everyone must be put in little labelled pigeonholes as regards their presentation and sexuality. Being Gender Fluid and Pansexual is a label just like the others even though it's masquerading as being woke and progressive
^ This, in spades.
A friend recently talked about some people who have the dominant / non dominant type relationship. (I want to say it was the pup/owner type role play - certainly on of the odd sexual fetishes turned lifestyle.) At which point I stated that sort of stuff should stay in the bedroom, it's not something to publicly identify as. In the same way that I wouldn't ever expect a male gay couple to identify as anal sex practicing or not, or whether the woman in a straight relationship likes to be tied up.
It's all woke self-important attention seeking.
