Stop Funding Hate and Mimmymum

Stop Funding Hate are going after the Spectator on a few things, including the trans stuff. They seem to have teamed up with Mimmymum:

She and SFH are trying to lump the Spectator’s GC stuff in with genuinely horrible and stupid Muslim bashing from Rod Liddle’s deeply awful article last week.

By the looks of StopFunding’s timeline, some of the advertisers are wavering: Waterstones and Naked Wines seem to be suggesting they’ll pull money from the Spectator.

If anyone on Twitter wants to explain to the advertisers they are targeting that GC journalism is important, reasonable and has nothing at all in common with Islamophobia (or indeed Rod Liddle) I think it would be worth making the point.

Imagine how this headline from today's Mail on Sunday would read - and be received - if you replaced the word "trans" with the name of any other minority group

I think a good example here would be Rochdale and the protection of rapists because of their ‘minority group’

It's quite interesting having a look at how that is playing out on SFH's facebook post. By far the most popular comments there are defending Todd. I see mostly sensible, rational views on there, that I would generally call as in favour of women's rights.

Puuuuuulll ....

GIDs won't be able to say that they didn't know there was a risk that many of the young people they put on a pathway to transition would come to regret it. They have been warned by their own professionals (now ex) about the speed with they they have rushed children to 'transition'. I hope they and all the other organisations that have done this will get sued. I think this will only stop when it hurts them financially.

Yes, Mayo. Sadly that's the only language some of these people speak.

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 28/01/2020 10:15

Mermaids will potentially have a legal case to answer too. I hope so.

They have groomed parents, children AND clinicians into believing that it’s immediate transition or suicide ‘better a live son than a dead daughter’ etc.

I dont get organisations such as SFH. I didn't know much about them so I did a quick google. They operate only in the virtual world.

Two of the directors pay themselves a salary, from what I can see of about £30,000. They ask for donations but are not a registered charity. I know this is allowed, but in my view it blurs the lines.

Information is available at companies house.

They do have a complaints policy on their website.

ChickenNuggetsChipsAndBeans · 28/01/2020 12:20

They hold the media to account, but as a private company who holds them to account.

Before reading this the main thing I knew about Stop Funding Hate was that they were supported by Brendan Cox. So I assumed it would be yet another beardy cult-type thing that would be continually trying to hide its misogyny.
