Professor of Public Engagement has a locked twitter account

It looks like Alice has locked her Twitter account which is really a concerning thing for someone who is supposed to engage with the public. I'm assuming it's a temporary thing as she seems to have referenced Glinner and is probably avoiding an onslaught of rational and reasonable comments.

Did anyone see what she said?

She tweeted to Jo Maugham QC something like they were both being mobbed by GC women led by Glinner. I don’t think she got the ratio she expected in the replies. Reading through the QC’s tweets it appears someone threatened Alice so she has again protected her tweets.

Yes, she said that those who disagreed with her have been 'sparked off by Gragam Linehan'.

Profoundly insulting for a woman to suggest that the women who disagree with her only do so because a man told them to. Ironically she said this while fawning to Jolyon the eminent QC who blocks women who ask him questions he deems beneath him.

I really don't need Graham Linehan to tell me human beings can't change sex. I figured that one out long before I'd ever heard of Graham Linehan, like about 1978.

Alice Roberts really isn't an appropriate person to be Professor of Public Engagement if she won't engage with the public and spreads disinformation when she does.

Last time around she complained about people's responses being aggressive or whatever and I read through everything and saw nothing of the sort.

I just can't understand her stance on this topic.

She commiserated with another twitterer about getting pile ons (all Glinners doing apparently) but the other woman responded thus...

I kind of get it. Trans privilege activists are vicious, all too often to the point of outright violence, but it is still pathetic.

I will confess to laughing out loud when I saw that her tweets were now protected. But to be fair, any woman who has an opinion in public gets an enormous amount of shit poured on her head. And certainly some of it will be from gender critical people, who are just as capable of being nasty as anyone else. Twitter isnt compulsory. I thought Dr McKinnon was being vapid saying that their twitter account was them doing public philosophy. Dr Robert's could do other things to engage the public with science.

That said, Dr Roberts, it didn't take one person to bring me to my senses gender critical views, it took about ten years of life experience. I always hope that others will at least see the point of what we are talking about. That will be hard if you just decide it's all about one person.

It's like those posters who come on here and spout random facts about chromosomes assuming that we are all just mummies with no independent thought or knowledge of our own. Dr FondofBeetles reply is excellent.
