From what I gather, 'Fabulous' is the magazine that comes with Sun on Sunday. I assume this is appearing in the current edition.

A very good article

Qcng · 13/10/2019 08:02

That was a really good article with Nic Williams right at the beginning, quotes from top sportswomen, then the madness and blatant lies from RM at the end, which is a huge turnaround.
Usually an article on this subject would go "brave and stunning, no evidence for physical advantage, brave and stunning, oh, but Marina Navratilova objected on Twitter and everyone disagrees"

BarbaraStrozzi · 13/10/2019 08:05

Great article - and very good on the shortcomings of Harper's research (who says you can't do decent science reporting in a tabloid format?)

TemporaryPermanent · 13/10/2019 08:10

Qcng thank you for that perfect summary of most articles on this subject, incredibly frustrating.

Cant click the link as it's on my phone. Glad its published.

HandsOffMyRights · 13/10/2019 08:47

Great piece.

The Sun has written a few strong pieces now on self ID, including the superb article on the extreme rise in numbers of young girls being referred to gender ID clinics.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 13/10/2019 09:17

I've been wondering when the sun would dip their toe into this, it's taken them a long time.

Needmoresleep · 13/10/2019 09:24

I think they have always been GC, not surprising given they have the same ownership as the Times. But topics need to be accessible: sport; children.

As much as anything I suspect there is not much room after coverage of WAG wars, Meghan etc.

Saltovinegar · 13/10/2019 09:31

RM has transitioned but still retains male genitalia. I honestly can't get my head around that as a concept. It's just gender self ID with hormone tablets.

Floisme · 13/10/2019 10:04

That's a good, article with some proper research behind it. Star to Nic Williams as always, and to Victoria Hood and Jennifer Wagner-Assali for continuing to speak out at no small risk, I imagine, to their careers.

And shame on the snivelling cowards at the left of centre media for leaving me little choice but to go to the Sun, Mail. Times and Spectator for my information.

Ereshkigal · 13/10/2019 10:12

RM has transitioned but still retains male genitalia.

Not sure that's the case. It doesn't make any difference to me though.

HandsOffMyRights · 13/10/2019 10:15

Captain

This was a very well written article from last year, worth another share:

Ereshkigal · 13/10/2019 10:16

Just thinking again, wonder if that information in the article about RM not having had SRS came from Rachel directly? Because Rachel has said differently elsewhere in the past.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 13/10/2019 10:18

I missed those, thank you.

JoyceJeffries · 13/10/2019 10:24

If I asked Rachel the time of day I’d check my watch. This person has real difficulty separating fact from fiction

Needmoresleep · 13/10/2019 10:39

I guess we could look for the tell-tale bulge in the cycle shorts.

I am not inclined to.

Qcng · 13/10/2019 10:45

RM is one of those "my penis is my human right" type of person.

Qcng · 13/10/2019 10:46

^Type of people mean.

Qcng · 13/10/2019 10:47

Oh fgs.

I^ mean

Namechangeah · 13/10/2019 10:49

The Sun also gave a platform to David Lewis to write an article after he ran for Women's officer last year for Basingstoke Labour CLP:

www.thesun.co.uk/news/6368126/labours-womens-officer-david-lewis/#comments

Complete with fairly unsympathetic response from Jane Fae.

LangCleg · 13/10/2019 10:51

That's a good, clear, accessible article.

testing987654321 · 13/10/2019 10:52

Women aren't men with their penis chopped off. It makes no difference at all if McKinnon has a penis or not.

Campervan69 · 13/10/2019 11:14

McKinnon's level of transition is irrelevant. No one born male should be allowed to compete against females in women's sports. That's my line in the sand.

Was at a 50th last night and we had a massive discussion about it all. There was not one person who thought different to me. Not one.

Ereshkigal · 13/10/2019 11:19

I know. Was just pondering the discrepancy.

RoyalCorgi · 13/10/2019 11:24

Good piece, though I wish journalists would realise it's Woman's Place UK, not Women's Place!

It sets out the issues clearly, and has some good quotes. It's disappointing that you have to turn to the Sun on Sunday for quality reporting of this issue rather than the Guardian.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 13/10/2019 11:26

There was not one person who thought different to me. Not one.

The disconnect between the public and the power is really jarring with this isn't it, it's why they don't want people to talk about it, because talking makes it obvious that the public opinion isn't inline with the states agenda.
