Labour mayors so keen to have their own Yaniv stories.

"Quick, let's push it through before even more people realise what we're up to!" Hmm

I hope this means they're getting worried about increasing scrutiny. Pretty apalling that they're pushing this when the consultation results haven't been published (unless I missed them?)

nauticant · 18/07/2019 16:17

Get them on blockers and chances are you've got most of them for life.

A bit like the Jesuits but with less rigour and more hand-wavey religious ideology.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 18/07/2019 16:17

Khan you moron, I bloody voted for you! I had been proud of that till now.

JackyHolyoake · 18/07/2019 18:03

Is that a couple of men making decisions that have adverse impacts on women and children yet again?

What a surprise!

Apollo440 · 18/07/2019 18:07

I agree. The GRA is outdated. It needs scrapping

SunsetBeetch · 18/07/2019 18:09

Oh fuck the fuck off, wokey blokeys!!!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/07/2019 18:11

Once done it can’t be undone. Why the rush?

Doyoumind · 18/07/2019 18:12

So good of them to quote an opponent of the plans as well as an LGBT group. Oh, hang on...

FormerMediocreMale · 18/07/2019 18:12

The last sentence in that article is chilling

...improve inclusion for young trans people.”

I didn't realise they wanted reduce the age limit for GRA as well as allowing Self-ID.

MockerstheFeManist · 18/07/2019 18:19

They're all on message. They read this stuff out from HQ, written for them by the wonks.

They have been very clear.

Lumene · 18/07/2019 18:38

Unimpressed with this from Khan and no acknowledgement of the issues for women. He has always been a people pleaser rather than a serious politician though.

BandsAndBeer · 18/07/2019 18:47

Non binary is such a nonsense.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/07/2019 18:58

Khan who has daughters - so he likes to tell us.

FloralBunting · 18/07/2019 19:14

Please, carry on boys. I am so, so delighted to have even more reasons not to vote labour in the foreseeable future.😥

needmorespace · 18/07/2019 20:30

I came here to post this link. I am disgusted.
I've never been a Khan supporter even though I am (was) a Labour supporter and member.
What on earth can be done about this. There are no comments so the public reaction to this cannot be gauged.
I feel like even though more sunshine is being shone, it is not enough. I feel like we are in our own echo chamber here. I just don't know what to do about it.
I utterly despair

Interview with Andy Burnham's misogyny advisor

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/07/2019 23:51

I’ve just twigged.

The male mayors want the men that they feel uncomfortable around to just bugger off out of the men’s rooms and changing areas and off to the women's spaces, eh?

nonsenceagain · 18/07/2019 23:54

Disgusting. I wish it were possible to tear up my Labour membership card a second time.

FloralBunting · 19/07/2019 00:26

The male mayors want the men that they feel uncomfortable around to just bugger off out of the men’s rooms and changing areas and off to the women's spaces, eh?

Oh yes indeed. Couple this with the whole castration anxiety thing which prevents them examining difficult questions, and the total misogyny that excuses the behaviour of any male who transes because to choose to be a woman must be genuine because no real man would demean himself so, and essentially you have the perfect woke vehicle for men who are, at base, craven cowards.

BoomBoomsCousin · 19/07/2019 02:10

Given this is about gender the headline would more appropriately be

Male mayors urge...

GirlDownUnder · 19/07/2019 03:03

FormerMediocreMale re I didn't realise they wanted reduce the age limit for GRA as well as allowing Self-ID.

Have a read of the twitter thread in the MN post Stephen Whittle accusing GC feminists of being funded by the 'evangelical right wing'

http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3641922-Stephen-Whittle-accusing-GC-feminists-of-being-funded-by-the-evangelical-right-wing

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 19/07/2019 06:40

It's weird how the LGBTQ+ movement seems often in practice to be just a men's rights movement with the cheerleaders being clearly misogynistic gay men.

Yet because they talk about inclusion (which in practice just means including more men whilst excluding women) no one seems to notice. It's extraordinary.

Sicario · 19/07/2019 09:26

This has made me so fucking angry this morning. Men casually discarding women's hard-won sex-based rights. They can choke on their woke.

I need to calm down before writing the letters. Again.

Oldrockman · 19/07/2019 10:05

Its rubbish and dangerous rubbish ideas like this that have made me destroy my Labour membership. I am now politically homeless, The Greens, Lib Dums and so called Conservatives seem all on board with this. With all the vile stuff coming out about the JY case, the sex offender claiming to be women then in cases raping in prison as they are moved to women s prisons. These people advocating this must know, I do not for a second believe no one has not seen or been informed at all and to me that makes them condoning of the horrors we have seen already.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 19/07/2019 10:12

Pretty apalling that they're pushing this when the consultation results haven't been published

They'll just throw out any results that don't match the outcome they want.
