I live no where near London, but it'd be great if they got a big turn out!

OP posts:

I didn't too much like the way the actual brochure is written; it doesn't get to the point strongly enough or early enough. If it were me I'd edit it, move things around. But it's not me, so....

The video's content was good but I didn't like the format, writing as you read as I read quickly and get very impatient with such videos! I'd prefer the writing to be in normal font, the whole text on each page visible from the start, but left for a while so slower readers have time to read and fast readers have time to absorb the message. But that's just me.

Lamaha · 30/06/2019 20:37

For the record, just in case someone with editing authority is reading this, the reason I don't like the info sheet is that it starts very confusingly for anyone who is not aware of the various organisations or what they stand for; with a negative statement about "what Stonewall says" about Transgender Trend. It doesn't matter what Stonewall says about TT: just define the problem and clarify what needs to be done.
A person new to all this might easily think that TT is really producing a "dangerous" resource pack, if they don't (yet) know what TT is or what they stand for.

"That’s why the ‘schools resource pack’ produced by Transgender Trend this week is so dangerous. Masquerading as professional, ‘evidence-based’ advice for schools on how to ‘support trans and gender nonconforming young people’, the pack in fact provides the reverse.

But -- it's just me.

PencilsInSpace · 30/06/2019 22:21

I believe the general idea is that people turn up to protest against Stonewall's stance on transing children and the wider effects of their 'inclusive' guidance and training to schools and other orgs that work with children and young people. And the vast amount of public money they spend doing this, and the vast amount of private money they make doing this.

Please come and give your voice to this pushback, where we say no to indoctrinating our children, no to putting girls last, no to endorsing this harm.

That's a simple enough message, isn't it?

Come along, bring your own placard/leaflets/stickers/badges if you prefer, edited to your own specifications, carrying your own personalised message and in your preferred font. Or just turn up willing to talk to people about what you think is wrong with Stonewall and their interference with children's development and wellbeing.

Background on Stonewall's obscene financial clout here:

There are all sorts of angles that could be taken and many different messages that need to be communicated so please join in if you can.

I'm not well enough to go... but thank you to those of you who do go! I am about to tackle my children's primary school and find out what their position is... and hopefully flag up that they may well have a problem if they don't make sure their plans line up with the EA etc.

The Stonewall education conference that we are protesting outside of on Friday will have hundreds of delegates who are teachers in primary and secondary and we think it's really important to give these people the other side of the story that they are being told that day. It's such a great opportunity to meet this highly targeted (by Stonewall) group.

I don't care if it's just a few of us giving information to these people but it would be even better if there was a large group of us. The head of Ofsted is a keynote speaker ffs.

I know not everyone can make it but I have booked the day off work and arranged childcare because I think it is so important.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 02/07/2019 13:05

Prawn, Posie says she’ll be there all day.

PencilsInSpace · 03/07/2019 22:50

The head of Ofsted is a keynote speaker ffs.

Yes, I saw this and was apalled.

Reading through Transgender Trend's excellent analysis of Stonewall's 'Introduction to Supporting LGBT Young People' it is clear the Stonewall guidance has 'safeguarding fail' written all over it.

  • children and young people's distress, often for very complex reasons including sexual orientation, ASD and sexual abuse, is rebranded as an identity and a political badge.
  • therapists are not allowed to explore any factors which potentially contribute to a child's dysphoria other than discrimination and waiting times for treatment.
  • medical transition is presented as just something some young people choose to do to feel happier. Schools can help by signposting children for 'support' while at the same time paying lip service to 'body confidence'. What a headfuck!
  • School staff should promise confidentiality if a child says they are trans and in particular parents should not be told without the child's permission in case they are 'unsupportive'. This goes against all safeguarding law and guidance. Dysphoric feelings about your body can be a sign of sexual abuse, and we are constantly reminded of the massive risk of self-harm and suicide attempts (however bogus some of the stats are) but parents shouldn't be told their child is suddenly at much higher risk? Parental alienation itself is also a masssive risk factor.
  • girls are no longer entitled to female only spaces such as toilets, changing rooms and overnight accommodation. Girls don't matter, it's all about the trans child's feelings. The reason for those female only spaces in the first place is safeguarding. Expecting girls to not only accommodate boys in their spaces but also to pretend these boys are girls and to ignore their own senses and boundaries, knowing they will be shamed and excluded from their own spaces if they don't comply, is evil as fuck and a massive safeguarding fail.

It's my understanding that a school can completely fail an Ofsted inspection for safeguarding failures alone, no matter how good they are in other areas.

I don't know whether Ofsted chief inspector Amanda Spielman is ignorant of what she is endorsing or whether she knows all about it and thinks it's completely brilliant.

Either way, Amanda Spielman should step down. This is regulatory capture at the highest level. If Ofsted take this shit on board, no child is safe in UK schools.

Thank you to all of you going tomorrow. I hope you have a great day and make a real impact. Flowers

littlbrowndog · 04/07/2019 23:00

Good luck 💪💓

TurboTeddy · 05/07/2019 08:36

Can't make it to London but I will be supporting you all in spirit. I hope the day is productive and you do not encounter any antifa type TRA's. Good luck and thank you.

MrsSnippyPants · 05/07/2019 09:13

Good luck to all those attending, wish I could be there. Their shocking treatment of Transgender Trend proves to me that Stonewall can no longer be trusted and should be nowhere near our schools.

If anyone there can keep us updated it would be appreciated. Is there a Twitter hashtag?

HandsOffMyRights · 05/07/2019 09:18

Good luck and thank you. My child's school is a Stonewall Champion and the material is factually inaccurate and dangerous, regressive/homophobic and sexist.

Can no longer give my support via Twitter, so if anyone can update here too, that would be great.

current thread:

"Letter from FOVAS DAMNING for Stonewall
FOVAS (Female-Only Violence and Abuse Survivors) have just published a desperately upsetting account of the impact of sex self ID on women-only services. Worse: there is clear evidence that Stonewall have treated data provided to them by these services in a deeply unethical way.
Please read and share with everyone you can think of. "

Just watched livestream from the protest on Posie's fb. The posters are hard hitting, I hope they make people think.
Kick ass women out there.

Ereshkigal · 05/07/2019 11:17

Yes, they really are. I'm not sure anyone without an agenda could disregard them.

BBCBias001 · 05/07/2019 11:26

Are they they all day, does anyone know?

MrsSnippyPants · 05/07/2019 11:28

I believe so. Conference finishes at 5pm so I expect they want to be there for delegates leaving.

FormerMediocreMale · 05/07/2019 11:42

Yes those posters are fantastic! Posie is doing a great job speaking as well.

On Posie's FB says they are there until the evening.
