Just wanted to pop on to say hello and thanks for the likes and shares of our letter/Twitter/Facebook page. It's been mentioned through various threads over the last few days. Not sure how I can prove we am real and not a "fake account" as so many of our friends on Twitter are accusing us of but I personally go so far back on MN I remember Aitch and her BWL blog, a mile for Maud and latterly "cancel the cheque". There are lots of us SSA members on here but we thought it was worth having our our MN account. Get in touch via twitter, FB or email if you want to be more involved. We will be sharing more on here as we get more active.

How does Safe Schools Alliance work? Do you have groups around the country? Can MNetters set up a group in their area?

RoyalCorgi · 11/06/2019 09:40

I've seen some of the tweets accusing the Safe Schools Alliance of being a hastily-cobbled together transphobic front organisation. It's beyond tedious. But it's part of the TRA modus operandi - they don't tackle the meat of the issue (ie the reasons why Bergdorf is an unsuitable ambassador for Childline) but go straight to attacking the messenger.

Safeschoolsallianceuk · 11/06/2019 09:51

Thanks everyone, we were pretty pleased with our our first letter went. We have local groups challenging the Allsorts toolkit in several LEAs and lots of other people carrying out other challenges to schools and MAT. We have had some success so we will be updating on that soon. And we have loads more planned and will be calling on the power of MN to help us share and challenge. We are trying to build our membership but trying to figure out how to do it safely is a challenge so more on that soon but if anyone wants to get more actively involved please message us. We might not get back to you straight away but we won't forget you!

Thanks for the kind words and the encouragement.

Sorry I missed the second page.

Barracker - I miss her roundup! I was in it once, was so proud! Please tell me Aitch is with us on this.

misscockerspaniel - sorry I missed your message first time. Send me a PM on on here or message us through the FB page or send us an email. We are trying to grow but also have to figure out how to do it safely but please get in touch.

RoyalCorgi - yes we have decided to ignore it all. Pointless waste of energy. We have been around for ages, just not under this name.

Well done - the letter was brilliant - I've sent a message via FB Smile

Regular namechanger here and frequenter of this board and MN for 10++ years)

I wondered if anyone is going to dismantle mimmymum's attempt to discredit and paint your organisation (and virtually any woman-supporting Twitter accounts) as sinister, shadowy collections of faceless droids who just harbour unkind feelings about trans people rather than intelligent women who are horrified at what is happening around us in the name of Trans 'rights'?

Everyone is oohing and aahing at their 'analysis' and are seemingly very impressed with coloured-in Venn diagrams. Apparently we are not real supporters of Women because we don't all follow the NSPCC Twitter account - HA HA HA! Have they NO idea why that might be?

Keep up the good work. I've no idea how this insanity will resolve itself in the coming years but we definitely have a battle on our hands.

Excellent, thank you for introducing yourself. Great letter.
I’m very interested from a school governor point of view but don’t engage with this on fb or social media.
Keep us up to date on here and I’m very pleased to see you so active.

Has Munroe Bergdorf convinced the BBC that SSA UK was set up to be 'against Munroe' ?

NeurotrashWarrior · 11/06/2019 12:02

"I'm more than qualified for that role"

What? By insisting that you enter female changing spaces or that Topshop, well
known teen and tween hang out, create mixed sex spaces? Is that how kids are supposed to 'work out their gender identity,' by barging into sex segregated spaces?

NeurotrashWarrior · 11/06/2019 12:04

Can anyone fill me in on these venn diagrams?

I'm good at venns. Plenty of practise with yr 2 kids; can fix any errant Venn.

NeurotrashWarrior · 11/06/2019 12:05

I think the bbc clip has been taken down?

littlecabbage · 11/06/2019 12:06

Thank you for your important work Safeschoolsallianceuk

Thingybob · 11/06/2019 12:12

I found it via the main BBC news page Neurotrash

littlecabbage · 11/06/2019 12:13

I just watched it via the link above - still there.

NeurotrashWarrior · 11/06/2019 12:18

As you were it's glitchy on all of them my end.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 11/06/2019 13:36

Ha. You've hit a few nerves with the trans activists. Which is always nice to see.

How do they know that GC women don't follow the NSPCC?

The vast majority have specific and anonymous accounts set up purely for GC stuff because of all the doxing, rape and death threats TRA's like to sling about.

I don't use twitter other than to read links but if I did I'd have a separate account just for following GC stuff.

R0wantrees · 11/06/2019 18:46

Can anyone fill me in on these venn diagrams

They've been used as key 'evidence' by BBC, Canary & Independent journalists!

theOtherPamAyres · 11/06/2019 19:22

Another cracking goal from Safer Schools Alliance UK into the back of the BBC News net.

Had the BBC "journalist" (sic) carried out some basic fact-finding and checking before offering a platform to Bergdorf, he might have avoided embarressing himself.

Your letter set the record straight and pointed out the breaches to the BBC's own code.
Good work!

All together now and P U L L!

NeurotrashWarrior · 11/06/2019 20:42

Ah thanks, seems rather weird one up manahip research to do; she's also not considered the fact that some of us have more than one twitter account and follow different people.

I follow professional things like TES and Ofsted on one twitter amongst many other things for work (and a few people I want to watch but never comment so I don't get blocked) and go gung-ho full
GC on my other one.

Safeschoolsallianceuk · 11/06/2019 22:50

Mimmymum's venn diagrams seem to show that people who are interested in protecting women's rights are also interested in safeguarding children.
There's nothing to respond to as far as we're concerned.
