Do you ever wonder...

...if some of the Uber-Woke secretly do question some of the current rhetoric, but have painted themselves so far into the corner that it’s almost impossible to extricate themselves.

I know a few people who are involved in an extremely “Woke” organisation. If anybody involved in this organisation were to express any GC belief, they would certainly lose their jobs, a large portion of their social circle, possibly even relationships.

There’s a bit of me that feels quite sorry for people like this. If they were to question any part of this, they would lose so much. No wonder the same arguments get repeated over and over.

while I have popped in you know what I find the most amusing thing on here that some of the posters on here who are gender critical and say there woman are sometimes clearly not

Come again?

Bespin · 05/06/2019 22:54

and yet people delight in pointing out that I struggle with spelling or grammer. I repeatedly state I'm dyslexic but it does not seem to matter as its funny to belittle people because it undermines them. also I do this on my phone and its not the best I'm not wasting time checking my posts or going on the computer to post on here for this.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:55

You are not a woman sack

Fact

I dont know why it matters ...i dont care if a poster is a man or a woman as long as they arent being a twat

Am i a man?

FloralBunting · 05/06/2019 22:55

Oh but Bespin, I remember all those months ago when you did hang around to discuss, and it all dissolved into the usual ephemera because you couldn't explain why it was in women's interests to give up their boundaries for you. You lost interest because we kept saying no to you. You can dress that up to suit your wounded pride if you want, but it's all there if people wish to look.

Bespin · 05/06/2019 22:57

you know I still beleive that a debate can be had just not on here and not with people like yourself because you choose to simply belittle the people who you don't agree with.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 22:58

Thats going to give me nightmares

I keep having nightmares about tortoise ps so it will make a nice change

Bespin · 05/06/2019 22:59

rufus it matters when you call trans woman things like mate and talk about male patterns of behaviour when in all honesty you think all people that have talked about being a woman and gender critical are because they self id as such. honestly

donquixotedelamancha · 05/06/2019 22:59

while I have popped in you know what I find the most amusing thing on here that some of the posters on here who are gender critical and say there woman are sometimes clearly not

Oh Jesus Bespin, it's hard work parsing your posts. Takes three reads to figure out what you are saying.

I think you are saying you find it funny that not all the posters on FWR are women? I'm a bloke and have never claimed to be otherwise. I'm conscious that I'm in someone else's house and try to avoid chipping in where I shouldn't. I think the transwomen who come here to oppose self ID do the same.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 23:01

What?

I call everyone mate

Or donyou mean people generally not me personally

donquixotedelamancha · 05/06/2019 23:01

I suppose we could all start our posts with 'As a man...' or 'Lo, I have arrived...' so there is no confusion. Not sure that would go down well.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 23:01

I can never tell if a poster is a man

Im rubbish at it

FloralBunting · 05/06/2019 23:02

Bespin, I have very little respect for you because of your behaviour in discussions here, where you got increasingly belligerent because we did not agree that women should compromise their boundaries for your comfort. I think we also expressed concern for some of your attitudes to safeguarding young people. If you wish to characterize that as belittling you, I can't stop you, but I've learned over the past year or so not to be cowed by pouty accusations from people with no integrity, so I am unmoved by your protestations.

pombear · 05/06/2019 23:03

and say there woman are sometimes clearly not

Grin in the absence of the 'crying with laughter' emoji right now.

a) Bespin, you've told us many times who you are.

b) Given there's not many users on this thread right now, checks self in case Bespin is referring to me. Hmm. Maybe I'm not a woman (To be honest, in the woke definition of woman, i'm often probably not, due to the splattering of stereotypes and new definitions.
Though we all know the reality of why I probably am, otherwise 'trans' wouldn't be a thing!)

c) the qualification for supporting women and children's safety, dignity, privacy, definition of sex, etc, means it isn't obligatory to be 'a woman' so even if some of the posters here aren't 'women' so your smiling and loling all over the place isn't really relevant. I don't know whether you've noticed, but there are quite a few men who disagree with your point of view too.

And that's also a beautiful thing about Mumsnet - who knows who's behind a user name? (Though quite often there are some very telling signs of what sex that user is likely to be!)

FloralBunting · 05/06/2019 23:03

Rufus, I called Bespin mate earlier. I do it to lots of people, including my daughters.

Barracker · 05/06/2019 23:03

You know your mum, Bespin?
You came out of her body.
She's female.
Some of us also have that type of body.
Half of all humans, actually.
That type of body (your mum's type) is called female.
We have a word for it, because it's useful to communicate about female bodies, (and not just in humans, but other animals too) and the people who have them.
There's really nothing much more to rethink about that.

You know your dad? He has the other type of body. His type of body is called male.
There are limitless possibilities for words to describe people with your dad's type of body who feel they have something very important in common with other people.
But female is not one of those possibilities.

If you'd like help with choosing words for people with your dad's type of body and common interests, we'll gladly help.

But it's probably a non-starter to expect people with female bodies to rethink whether we should have a specific name at all for our bodies, and for all of the female bodies in the animal kingdom, simply because it hurts the feelings of people with male bodies. I'm pretty sure you can understand that.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 23:06

floral yeah i use it for all sexes

Depending on the context

FloralBunting · 05/06/2019 23:08

Yup. It's usually when I'm pointing out bullshit, to be fair, though. So it'd be "mate! What are you thinking?"

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 23:10

Yeah like

Maaaattteeee..don’t be a twat all your life

littlbrowndog · 05/06/2019 23:11

Rufus on me gaming chat they say m8 and I always think offs is there a problem on the m8.

Will I ge5 trapped in a traffic jam

Only relevant if you know the m8 moterway

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 23:11

Actually should be

Maaaaattttte

Otherwise it sounds like matey...i dont trot round calling people that!!

FloralBunting · 05/06/2019 23:12

I realize I sound a bit like a Love Island contestant when I use it, though. Especially if I pair it with the neutral pronouns necessary on FWR. Like "Maate, they is talking rubbish!"

littlbrowndog · 05/06/2019 23:12

Anyway good to see bespin back

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 23:12
Grin

littlebrowndog i had to read your post 3 times before i read it as mate

littlbrowndog · 05/06/2019 23:13

Exactly rufus. I thought they were talking about the m8 moterway

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 05/06/2019 23:14
