Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

WelshMoth · 18/05/2019 08:17

"We've now gone the other way. We now discriminate against men".

Hmm
Childrenofthestones · 18/05/2019 08:18

It's an 8 minute clip that you posted about 2 minutes after it went up.
Why don't you watch it before you comment.
I find it shocking that he now makes more sense than 80% of self declaring feminists and 90% of the Labour party

Grin Ginger.

DpWm · 18/05/2019 08:19

9 minutes...

Processedpea · 18/05/2019 08:20

I think he speaks sense on lots Tbh

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 18/05/2019 08:24

I'm sorry, I think the lizard overlords thing means I'm very unlikely to look to David Icke to shape my thinking on anything

just because someone understands that humans can't change sex, it doesn't mean they're not seriously misguided on other issues.

WelshMoth · 18/05/2019 08:27

Children not sure if that was directed at me?

I queried it because I'd like to know how the balance has swung to the detriment of men, in the feminist movement.

I also don't understand what he meant by the "deep agenda" of the TRA movement. David Icke has form for conspiracy so I hope his otherwise spot-on comments won't get 'lost' to claims of conspiracy.

I get what he means about manufactured discrimination and actual discrimination and agree entirely. I just wish I know what he thinks the deep agenda is.

JQBased · 18/05/2019 08:29

He is a conspiracy theorist, but doesn't make him wrong on everything. Its hilarious how people are quick to ignore whatever someone has to say on a topic because they've never agreed with much of what they have said before or they don't like an aspect of that person...Then claim to be open to all points of view and accepting of everyone 😂 which I hate to say it is rife on MN! People should always listen to what is being said, regardless of who it is by and what side of the fence they sit. Listening makes up the majority of our daily communication and communication is key to any progress and advancement.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 18/05/2019 08:35

It is great to hear him speak about the trans issues and how they will impact women and girls. We need more people like this on our side. And he’s batshit crazy enough not to be scared off by trans bullies, the way that Alison Moyer et al were.

AlwaysComingHome · 18/05/2019 08:40

Oh, for Christ’s sake. The man’s a fucking lunatic.

I don’t give a shit what he says on trans issues and I suspect anybody pushing this lunatic is looking for screenshots of ‘t*rfs’ agreeing with a!m paranoid, antisemitic basketcase.

merrymouse · 18/05/2019 08:43

He is a racist conspiracy theorist who isn't adding anything to the discussion that hasn't been said 1000's of times by people who also manage not to be racist conspiracy theorists.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 18/05/2019 08:45

That’s what I don’t get about David Icke. On one hand he talks so much sense and on the other hand... the Reptilian Agenda. Can someone who is a fan explain this?

merrymouse · 18/05/2019 08:47

I suspect anybody pushing this lunatic is looking for screenshots of ‘trfs’ agreeing with a!m paranoid, antisemitic basketcase.*

Agree - and really nasty organisations try to hook people in by creating a front that seems reasonable.

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2019 08:49

No.

But to be fair if someone had told me 4 years ago that the political commentator who most matched my views would be Gary Lineker I wouldn’t have believed that either so it might happen. Grin

Alltheprettyseahorses · 18/05/2019 08:49

The only suitable reaction to Icke is point at him and laugh.

AlwaysComingHome · 18/05/2019 08:50

We need more people like this on our side.

We absolutely do not.

What we need is people like Icke on the TRA side.

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2019 08:52

“The only suitable reaction to Icke is point at him and laugh.”

Actually- I remember when Terry Wogan and his audience did this- it was horrible. But that was when he just appeared to be a guy having a breakdown in a turquoise track suit.

noraclavicle · 18/05/2019 08:54

Agreed

AnyOldPrion · 18/05/2019 09:35

The answer to your question is no, but then surely it’s a necessity for any successful conspiracy theorist to have facts and reality woven through their theories in order to push the extremes of their less rational agenda?

He has a big following in the US doesn’t he? I‘m not sure if Donald Trump has spelled out his opinions on whether men can be women if they say so, but from the legal changes he pushes, I suspect I’d agree with his views on this too.

I have no insight and no say in how these people reached these conclusions and what agenda they are pushing in relationship to that. It’s likely I would not agree with many other things they believe.

The GC women’s movement in the UK seems to be speaking with the clearest voice of reason in this debate and most of those leading it put science and reliable statistics at the forefront of their campaign. While it continues thus, I will continue to back their efforts in the small ways available to me.

And if the likes of Trump and Icke successfully use this rationale to push a less truthful agenda, then we must fight that in turn.

Puuuuuuullllllll.....

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 18/05/2019 10:13

yep. people who aren't on the side of feminists (I'm dropping the GC - if you believe in the gender fairy, you ain't no feminist bruv):

  1. UKIP (ffs)
  2. Jacob Rees-Mogg
  3. Jordan fecking Peterson
  4. David Icke

we shouldn't be railroaded into feting people just because they understand the self evidently true fact that humans can't change sex. Happy to talk about them, but we need to understand that they are not on the side of women.

DuMondeB · 18/05/2019 10:42

I’ve always been fond of the colour turquoise and the Isle of Wight. Don’t think Mr Icke and I have much else in common though.

Justhadathought · 18/05/2019 10:46

I've always thought interesting many of the points he has made. Problem is he takes everything to the zenith and weaves it into an overall & bizarre conspiracy theory. However, much of what he says has factual and rational foundations.

Justhadathought · 18/05/2019 10:46

..not the lizards though......haha!

lady69 · 18/05/2019 10:50

He’s a raging anti-semite so he can fuck off.
