Icke telling it like it is.

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 18/05/2019 10:58

“He’s a raging anti-semite so he can fuck off.”

Yep.

Amazing how many conspiracies come down to anti semitism when you dig a little.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 18/05/2019 11:02

What does he say about Jewish people? Sorry, I’m foreign, so am not that familiar with him. Thanks.

woman19 · 18/05/2019 11:04

However, much of what he says has factual and rational foundations
? Shock

Some of the sycophancy to right wing, in this case anti semitic, male nutters creeps me out round here; it's not feminism, it's anti semitic handmaidery of the worst order.

Engage brains and moral compasses, sisters.

merrymouse · 18/05/2019 11:27

www.tabletmag.com/scroll/277273/the-new-york-times-just-published-an-unqualified-recommendation-for-an-insanely-anti-semitic-book

This is pretty comprehensive on David Icke's anti-semitism.

Persifleur · 18/05/2019 11:50

Ooh, the racist lizard-conspiracy theorist is GC therefore all GC people are racist lizard-conspiracy theorists, right? Is that how the false syllogism goes for a gotcha? Or is it just to point at the disgusting company sharing a point of view that humans can't change sex? He probably believes the earth is an oblate spheroid that orbits the sun, too!

Ohallright · 18/05/2019 12:14

I believe that humans breathe and that the sea around the uk is cold in winter. Most people who can string two thought processes would agree (and many who can’t)

The more obvious the statement, the more likely odd “allies” there will be.

So no! Just as I’m not surprised all sorts of people, who I disagree profoundly with on many issues, will agree on my trans/gender views. It is not because I ally with them, but because it is so clearly the truth - even if it hurts some to say so.

Pota · 18/05/2019 12:31

I also think this is a screen-shot attempt. Why the fuck would you pick some racist misogynistic conspiracy theorist loon when there are loads of videos of women who make sense. Oh and no I don’t think he is right about men being discriminated against. Fuck. Off.

GrumpyGran8 · 18/05/2019 12:33

However, much of what he says has factual and rational foundations.
I've been watching Icke ever since his purple tracksuit days, and I'd like to know just what he says has "factual foundations"!

I believe he's actually a massive textbook narcissisist who believes he cannot be wrong. A woman who worked for him for two years told me she had to leave because he kept pestering her for sex - he told her that they had been lovers in previous lifetimes and had 'karma' to work through! He was like that with all the women, she said. (Wonder why I'm suddenly reminded of Julian Assange?)
And is he really GC? With his weird New Age beliefs, he'd certainly believe in the "born in the wrong body" nonsense - for him, this would simply be actual female souls inhabiting male bodies. And he'd have the bio-essentialist view of gender that the TRAs are always accusing us of; in his world, women are nurturing Nature Goddesses, destined to joyously procreate with men and give birth.
Like the Heritage Foundation, he's spotted an opportunity for wedge infiltration; don't give him the chance!

RuffleCrow · 18/05/2019 12:39

Same old bullshit. He can come back when women are killing their male partners at 2-3 per week in the UK or having their underpants held up in court as proof they were clearly gagging for it and incapable of being raped.

Some misogynists like to preserve the boundaries of male and female. Some pretend the distinction is blurred. Both can fuck off.

RuffleCrow · 18/05/2019 12:41

Or men are having their underpants held up in court...

Obviously

sheshootssheimplores · 18/05/2019 12:48

Well he was correct in that video though wasn’t he.

Back in the past feminism was at the forefront and was pushing the agenda of equal rights for women to the detriment of men of course, who were then not allowed an opinion and we’re effectively silenced within the debate. Now transactivism has an agenda and is silencing women by labelling them transphobes.

I think there is a bigger picture at play. I’m very suspicious of the drug companies and the people and organisations who are profiting from all of this. I am not at all sure about lizards running our countries but I think it all ultimately comes back to money.

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2019 12:48

“However, much of what he says has factual and rational foundations.”

Like what?

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2019 12:50

“Back in the past feminism was at the forefront and was pushing the agenda of equal rights for women to the detriment of men of course, who were then not allowed an opinion and we’re effectively silenced within the debate.”

What utter, utter bollocks.

RuffleCrow · 18/05/2019 12:57

I suppose if you view men no longer being able to legally rape their wives in marriage (1991?) as 'detrimental to men' then you're right. Hmm

I would argue that giving men the option to move away from state-sanctioned brutality against women was actually a win for them too. And i think a lot of decent men would agree.

merrymouse · 18/05/2019 12:57

I’d go further Bertrand. Utter, utter, utter, utter, utter complete bullocks.

GrumpyGran8 · 18/05/2019 13:28

I didn't mention Icke's antisemitism in my post because I thought that everybody was already well aware of it. Apparently, I'm wrong!

Just for a start, Icke believes that the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" is a real instruction manual for Jews to take over the world, and not the clumsy forgery that it actually is. But, realising that he couldn't be open about it, he claimed that it had been mistranslated; so that, for example, insulting terms like 'goy ' actually refered to cattle and not Gentiles (rather like the way the TRAs claim that their use of the T word isn't meant to be insulting....).
If you want more, this article explains it quite thoroughly. : "Icke maintains that he is not an anti-Semite, and that he is criticizing not real Jews, but 12-foot-tall alien lizard people, many of whom just happen to be posing as Jews."

SpeckofStardust · 18/05/2019 13:47

So we’re supposed to be David Icke supporters now? Give me a fucking break.

Did we not learn anything about embracing anyone and everyone who expresses a GC view from what just happened in several states of the USA? Oh I see lots of people here wringing their hands over the poor women of Georgia and Alabama, the same people who were all over Posie Parker when she was hobnobbing with the Christian far right a while back. ‘It’s ok - they’re on our side about trans issues’
Yeah? Well no it’s not fucking ok to totally gloss over the fact that they are also the ones driving those abortion laws and other legislation meant to roll back women’s rights and are by far the bigger threat.

The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my fucking friend.

Justhadathought · 18/05/2019 16:27

Some of the sycophancy to right wing, in this case anti semitic, male nutters creeps me out round here; it's not feminism, it's anti semitic handmaidery of the worst order

I'm not sure where you get "sycophancy" from?

I always prefer to investigate things for myself, rather than being told what I should and should not read. David Icke has been around for a long time, and some of his 'project's have been interesting - even if over the top, as I say. Especially some of the stuff he's done on child abuse.

You don't have to agree with everyone on everything, in order to find interest, or agreement on other things. And there's nothing like first hand knowledge - rather than hearsay or Chinese whispers.

Justhadathought · 18/05/2019 16:31

That’s what I don’t get about David Icke. On one hand he talks so much sense and on the other hand... the Reptilian Agenda. Can someone who is a fan explain this?

I doubt you'll find 'fans' here. But reading or listening now & then does not make you a fan, as you imply yourself.

Justhadathought · 18/05/2019 16:34

Engage brains and moral compasses, sisters

You don't do that through ignorance, though. You do that by exploring things for yourself. If somethings are forbidden from exploration - how do you develop your own moral compass? You don't. You join a pack or a cult, and you do, say, read and think what you're told to.

Justhadathought · 18/05/2019 16:38

“However, much of what he says has factual and rational foundations.”
Like what?"

He did much in the early days around paedophile rings and child abuse. He uncovered a paedophile ring in Aberdeen where I used to live, for example.

LegoToast · 18/05/2019 17:18

Icke has a huge fan base, which means he will peak trans a lot of people. That’s a good thing, surely?

merrymouse · 18/05/2019 17:50

has a huge fan base, which means he will peak trans a lot of people. That’s a good thing, surely?

No. By definition if you are a fan of David Icke you are a racist conspiracy theorist.

I believe in human rights. Why on Earth would I want the support of people who don’t? How would that help?

LegoToast · 18/05/2019 19:06

I agree that being racist is bad. However, what's wrong with being a conspiracy theorist?

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2019 19:08

“However, what's wrong with being a conspiracy theorist?”

Because it means, by definition, that you are a grade a1 hyper nut job.
