I was in two minds whether to open this thread, because often posts end up being deleted, but I decided (rightly or wrongly) to do so.

From telling Maya to "fck off" and then repeatedly, over and over again, telling people how they had told her to "fck off" it looks like Madigan will now be going for Joanna Cherry. Apparently, she has been "transphobic".

Why can we never simply have a calm, reasoned debate about this?
Any time anyone raises a point of view, in the mildest way, that does not subscribe fully to this rigid trans dogma they are vilified and attacked in an uber-aggressive way. It is bullying and everyone is fearful of voicing an opinion. I want to use the word "sinister" about this - because I feel it is sinister, to stifle debate.

I genuinely do not understand how somebody like Madigan has been allowed to consistently attack women in this way. They seem to have protected status as being "trans" - Madigan knows this, so they just keep on being vicious.

If anybody does want to post, please make sure it is not offensive. Because often there has been interesting points that have then disappeared because of a wrong word or phrase, or another post that was a bit OTT makes the whole thing go.

Being trans was cool for a while for the young folk. I do believe it's becoming less so. The young folk will move on to something else. Lily will have to try to reinvent Lilyself ere long. But Lily is too stupid to realise this.

I’ve never heard of Lily Madigan apart from on mumsnet. I think they should be denied the oxygen of publicity.

A woman has set herself up as an apologist for Lily's filthy abusive tweets. And guess what? It's all women's fault. Lily is only a child and below the age of twitter responsibilty!

Stephanie Dale is wrong. Lily does not get criticised "for who she is", but for the things she tweets and says.

Perhaps a public role isn't for Lily, then, if Lily can't manage it without posting abuse.

Yes but a public profile is what Madigan craves - it's their raison d'etre. They call themselves an "agitator", and delight in stirring up trouble.

I agree that young people do seem less trans enamoured than they were. I think more critical stuff in the media, parents, teachers and GPs being more suspicious of Mermaids etc, I am Jazz's genital op going pear shaped means it is less cool and edgy than it was. Our GP practice hasn't had anyone wanting referred recently. 2 years ago seemed to be the peak. People are starting to engage their brains. I don't think Lily ever had any ops so Lily may get fed up of a life of cosplay

Intimidation of women by those with different viewpoints. Some things don't change, although it usually comes from men not a woman.

Joanna Cherry is great 😊 her and Joan McAlpine have me actually considering voting SNP - not for euro election but local and national.

I don't understand why Madigan hasn't been disciplined by Labour and reminded of their place/status within internal party structure, given the numerous attacks on not only peer low-level officials but actual deselection attempts towards MPs. The extension of these involving a prominent, highly respected member of another party (and a party that Labour may need help from in a coalition) should really result in expulsion. Instead, there's mollycoddling and twitter blocking of anyone who raises concerns as if that means the problem will go away when in actual fact it makes it much, much worse.

Because Madigan has very cleverly played the victim card. As a "trans" person they are accorded victim status; they are oppressed, etc, so they are treated with kid gloves.

Madigan knows this. That's why they also say they are disabled, mentally ill, working class, a woman, etc.

Madigan can do at liberty to others whatever they want - but the slightest criticism of themselves is called an attack that immediately causes mental distress and harm. Once you realise the tactics, it all makes sense and it is all very very predictable.

SarahPickles judging from Stephanie Dale's Twitter bio and pinned tweet, Stephanie is also trans, so the support is to be expected. It's all so predictable, even the nastiness towards women.

I take it we can all now refer to Madigan as a man after Madigan outed himself as male?

A young lesbian Labour activist spurned Madigan's advances and suffered the consequences.

Because she is not into penises she was ostracised, bullied and shamed and had to to leave her local constituency party. Madigan wrote a revenge article on Medium claiming to be the victim of her transphobia.

Someone took issue with Madigan's interpretation of events and reframed them as an example of a narcissism:

You are contributing to rape culture by taking revenge on a girl for not fancying you. You aren't so different from the men who upload revenge porn when their girlfriend leaves them. Just read the truly terrible Medium article, but the comment from which you quoted has already been removed.

I glanced at the article but it was the usual narcissistic nonsense. I've also seen the tweets where the accused tells her own story. Not surprisingly it confirms what an unpleasant individual LM has been towards this woman.

LM is a narcissistic bully, I wonder how long it will take for LM to proclaim they are taking a Twitter Break for the sake of their mental health, deleting all their Tweets and 3 days later, reappearing 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.....
