And I’m feeling quite pleased with myself. DS, also 18, is well aware of my radical opinions and even agrees in private but would not express any GC views out of the home so he spent the entire conversation pretending it wasn’t happening.
Peaking her was relatively easy as she is a smart girl who understands science. I was shocked as she used every daft statistic I have read on here - but the suicide and murder rate? But can’t we just be kind and let them be? - the clincher though was when she pointed me towards the “scientific” evidence that male and female brains are different Grin. Easy peasy after that.
I like her more and more.

Well done OP.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 03/04/2019 08:07

It’s not difficult but please warn people about the risk of speaking out. People are bonkers about this and it can get very nasty.

I find just saying ‘why?’ Etc usually does the trick.

TWAW - why?
They think they are - how’s that then?
Well they just are - it’s in the brain? Explain please
Stats stats stats - really? That’s all been disproved and denounced as dangerous lies. You have heard about self fulfilling prophecy?

Let me tell you what transsexual means - and how it differs from transvestite. Had breakfast? I hope not, I have photos...

Diddleysquat · 03/04/2019 08:20

She is doing her IB and informs me that they are taught critical thinking. I don’t think she is quite ready to join the ranks of radical feminists just yet. She is however righteously angry about the abuse of children in the name of the trans cause and is starting to see how homophobic the trans movement is.

They try to teach critical thinking at DS school - just means he thinks he is right.

He tried to argue feminist with me. Once. He was arguing quite trendy ‘gender’ themes with me - so bit actual feminism but transism. I listened - then gave him a history of feminism (1972-present) lesson. DH said I was mean.

OhHolyJesus · 03/04/2019 08:46

I've realised your questioning approach works LordProf. I sound like a 3 year old 'why why why' but it works!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 03/04/2019 08:51

It works to a point with DS who is a very argumentative.

He just gets to the point where I roll up my sleeves and say ‘Right!’ Then he knows he’s going to get a barrage of facts and stats.

There aren’t many topics that I can be bothered to get wound up about but historical inaccuracy and feminism are 2z

Diddleysquat · 03/04/2019 08:55

I have been playing A History of Britain in 21 Women through Alexa for a few weeks at home. Both DS’s are really enjoying it. I take that from the fact that they come into the room when it is on not leave.
DS is convinces that if I was in school today I would be non binary. I did ask if he felt like a man inside and he wasn’t able to describe what feeling male was, so I said he is non binary too.

Please tell me it’s all women.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 03/04/2019 09:09

My sister would be 100% on the transtrain if we were at school and I would probably follow (she is my big sis). What a generation fuckup.

nauticant · 03/04/2019 09:16

I did ask if he felt like a man inside and he wasn’t able to describe what feeling male was, so I said he is non binary too.

I suppose trans is a rebranding of the human condition which gives it some concrete aspects and then made-up stuff is bolted on to pursue various ideologies such as putting women back in their box, sinister stuff to do with children, political control, etc.

MNSDKHheroines · 03/04/2019 09:26

LordProf It's Jenni Murray's book. I've taken to giving it to any female turning 21. Predictable or spreading the word? Wink

Diddleysquat · 03/04/2019 09:29

What’s all women, Fecco? If you mean the book yes, 21 great British women. We are on Maggy Thatcher which is making me a little twitchy Grin

Sorry, Fekko*

I have it on Audible so the whole family has to listen in the car but have the choice in the house

I meant is every 3rd ‘woman’ an... errr - man?

NeighbourhoodAttackKitten · 03/04/2019 11:06

wow that is just something special right there a good old pat on the back is in order

ToeToToe · 03/04/2019 11:23

That's good OP.

Each person you peak is a person to say 'the emperor has no clothes on (and what's more, I think he might be enjoying it)' Wink

I've peaked my mother, my DH, my 3 sisters, one neighbour and one friend. My dc are naturally gender critical - having been brought up by their fiercely feminist mother Grin and I watch the school LGBT education stuff like a hawk - but I am v careful who I speak to about it. As a pp says, it can get v nasty.

Freespeecher · 03/04/2019 12:08

Out of interest, who did they start with in the 'History of Britain through 21 women' book? Boadicea, Cartimandua or someone else?

Diddleysquat · 03/04/2019 13:40

Boaudica as a demonstration that befor the Romans came women had equal right to property, inheritance and where frequently seen in battle fighting next to men.

What exactly is "ton peak trans" when it's at home?

nauticant · 04/04/2019 18:38

Oh. You're one of those.

TheGrey1houndSpeaks · 04/04/2019 18:44

If you have to ask (looking for screenshots), just bugger off.

BillyBadBreaks · 04/04/2019 20:21

Me? Sorry, I've no idea what "one of those" is supposed to be. I saw someone on another thread being accused of "looking for screenshots" and this is the second time I've ever seen that phrase so I've no idea what that means either.

I tried searching for "ton peak trans" and just got a load of folk being mean to each other, guess that was all the answer I needed judging by your response TheGrey1houndSpeaks Sad

VickyEadie · 04/04/2019 20:27

'ton' is the masculine singular accusative pronoun in Greek. Hope that helps.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 04/04/2019 20:31

I thought it was a mountain range in Wales.
