Just seen this article - Jazz will become the face of Gillette's Venus, because shaving helps you feel like a woman!

I feel their sales are about to drop...

HawkeyeInConfusion · 21/03/2019 19:44

I would boycott, except I just use bog-standard bloke's disposable razors as I'm not prepared to pay the inflated price they put on women's ones.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/03/2019 19:47

😱not pink fluffy ones?????😱

Neither do I - Tesco own brand, cheap as chips.

Yossarian22 · 21/03/2019 19:51

Do they still claim to be “the best a man can get”?
A razor that can change a man into a woman- can’t really beat that.

RagingWhoreBag · 21/03/2019 19:52

After all, what’s more womanly than having to remove all the naturally occurring body hair that both men and women grow on their legs. That’s how I know I’m a woman, I can feel it every time I perform that ritual of trying to become acceptable to the male gaze.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 21/03/2019 19:55

I feel so sad for Jazz. She tweeted yesterday about how she wanted 'in her heart' to leave home, but her parents wouldn't agree. I presume she is an adult, dunno American laws, but still it seems she is very much in thrall to her parents.

It didn't seem a happy post.

Glowerglass · 21/03/2019 19:57

I stopped shaving my legs when I was very pregnant (couldn't reach) this didn't affect my womanliness at all. Carried the baby, birthed the baby, breastfed the baby. All with unshaven legs! Who 'd a thunk it?

youmeandconchitawurst · 21/03/2019 19:59

I can't be arsed to shave my legs but that's because I'm womaning wrong. I sometimes remember to do my oxters using soap and a two year old disposable.

I fear that without Gillette's help I'll have to identify as half woman half yeti - just call me weti.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/03/2019 20:00

Can’t leave home? At what age is this? I thought they were an adult. And $$$ sponsorship and all the rest should provide income surely?

StephsCaddy · 21/03/2019 20:04

I also would boycott but I use the cheapest I can find in ALDI.

Dothehappydance · 21/03/2019 20:14

Family Fortunes asked 100 people What is a normal and human activity?

You answered: Shaving

Our survey says 'uh er' X

ScrimshawTheSecond · 21/03/2019 20:15

I'm not sure, LordProf. Seventeen? Eighteen? There was a clip of a discussion where Jazz indeed asked why she couldn't choose what she wanted to do with her own money that she'd earned.

Wonder why her parents don't want to let her go ...

CigarsofthePharoahs · 21/03/2019 20:16

It's march.
Haven't shaved mine over winter. Can't be bothered.
I'd say I'm feeling rather manly as a result but the menstrual cramps say otherwise.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 21/03/2019 20:22

"I was empowered when I didn’t shave my legs because it meant that I felt so confident as a woman that I didn’t have to comply with something they had to do."

What - "they" being women? But I thought Jazz believes they are a woman, so surely there shouldn't be any mention of the word "they"? It almost sounds as though they are having their cake and eating it Hmm.

whiteroseredrose · 21/03/2019 20:25

Cigars. Me too. Legs waxed annually before hols! The rest of the time I wear trousers so legs can't be seen.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/03/2019 20:27

Can’t leave home? At what age is this? I thought they were an adult.

Not been through puberty, not an adult.

RagingWhoreBag · 21/03/2019 20:39

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 21/03/2019 20:41

Don’t buy them anyway. I use preserve razors

ChiaraRimini · 21/03/2019 21:01

"What's more human and normal than shaving"?
Um, not shaving???

LeftHandDown · 21/03/2019 21:23

Said Jazz is 18 in the article. I would have thought with all the money earned over the years Jazz could afford to buy a flat, but then I suppose it depends how the parents invested or used the money earned; the age of majority is 18 or 19 depending on the state, so there's probably no !egal reason why Jazz couldn't, though the maturity of the average 18 year old may have been compromised.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/03/2019 21:25

Without wanting to go into speculation or details - won’t they need more medical attention than your average teen? And for life?

RockyFlintstone · 21/03/2019 21:39

Jazz is 18.

If Jazz was a young gay man, then Jazz would quite easily be able to leave home, start spreading their wings, start learning what it is to go out into the real world, go out and have fun, continue to become their own person without their parents having to know their every move, just like millions of 18 year olds do.

For many reasons that is not happening for Jazz.

That made me quite sad to type that Sad

UnderHerEye · 21/03/2019 21:42

Gillette have really misread the room on this one!

SpeakUpXXWomen · 21/03/2019 21:44

Poor Jazz, the lawyers are waiting in the wings.

donajimena · 21/03/2019 21:47

I can't find my inferior (not upgraded) vadge among the foliage. I'd best get a new razor before I become unwomanly.
