So what does RK think constitutes a women?

Ribosomes · 06/03/2019 17:32

RK says that there is no such thing as women's brain's and men's (I quite agree).

RK also says that there is no effect of testosterone on performance and there is no need to reduce levels or have surgery. So I assume they think that Male genitals have no effect.

So what does RK think constitutes a woman? Some one who wears a dress and make up? I'm really confused now. Why, exactly, does this person think they are a women?

Sorry RmK

Think?

donquixotedelamancha · 06/03/2019 17:34

I think finding evidence for that kind of harm is more difficult.

Anyone who says the words 'I am a woman'. It's an 'identity'; a belief system, rather than a description of reality apparently.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/03/2019 17:35

Saying it 3 times? Like ‘Candyman’ and divorce in Saudi.

MillytantForceit · 06/03/2019 17:38

It's like nationality where you can migrate and be a Canadian wherever your parents come from.

You just get on the boat to Girlyland and they put a pretty pink stamp in your passport.

EcclesThePeacock · 06/03/2019 17:40

AFAIK RM believes you can just assert things without knowing what you're talking about.

Ffsnosexallowed · 06/03/2019 17:40

It's the feels.

Ffsnosexallowed · 06/03/2019 17:41

But apparently it'll be easy to spot the frauds. Not sure how.

Ribosomes · 06/03/2019 17:44

So male and female are just simply roles? Just down to presentation?

This person really thinks there is no truth in sex at all? In any way?

This is bending my brain.

Lottapianos · 06/03/2019 17:46

'It's the feels.'

I was born female and have been female for nearly 40 years. I have NO idea what it means to feel 'like a woman'. I am so very different from many women I know, and they are different from me. There are probably many women I would have nothing at all in common with. Yet we're all still women, and what we share is our biology, not the contents of our heads (necessarily). I'm flabbergasted on a daily basis that any of this needs spelling out, and that the 'feelz' brigade are taken seriously by anyone at all

HollowTalk · 06/03/2019 17:48

Have they been on PM yet? I forgot to listen but will catch up if so.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/03/2019 17:51

Can we get them on for a chat here?

MillytantForceit · 06/03/2019 17:53

....What? On Mumsnet which is quite literally exactly like the Third Reich?

....And they're not going on PM, but it looks like they've recorded something for something at some stage.

Redshoeblueshoe · 06/03/2019 17:54

Hollow so sign of RM yet

Ribosomes · 06/03/2019 17:55

Because logically if they don't think that they have a female brain, they don't want to change their body or reduce testosterone levels it seems as if they are saying that they are a person who wants to take on a stereotypical 'female' presentation.

So how are they anything other than what used to be called a a transvestite?

I assume that they agree with the Stonewall diagram and say that this makes them a TW and then chant the mantra TWAW.

So is female sport just sport in pink outfits?

OP posts:
Ffsnosexallowed · 06/03/2019 18:08

Female sport is for people with the womenz feelz.

olderthanyouthink · 06/03/2019 18:17

Not even about the presentation though there's Alex something with a full beard

It just someone thinking "I am a woman" and everyone else is supposed to just know and lord help you if you don't intuit the woman-ness and call a bio male "Sir"

theOtherPamAyres · 06/03/2019 18:18

There's a magic potion called Oestrogen. It makes you feel like a teenage girl experiencing female puberty, according to Channel 4's adviser Sue Pascoe - shudder, shudder, yuck.

Testosterone is like an infection or a virus and has to be treated with another magic potion.

That's the science - hormone replacement (sic) therapy - to restore them to the people that they think they should have been, at birth.

As long as you have prescriptions for the magic potions, you can be a record-breaking cyclist or Woman of the Year.

NotTerfNorCis · 06/03/2019 18:25

I suspect a certain person had a brain scan to prove a point and didn't find enough evidence of girliness.

PrestonsFlowers · 06/03/2019 18:28

RMK's dissertation's title
Reasonable Assertions: On Norms of assertions and why you don't need to know what you're talking about
I think this says it all about RMK

Ribosomes · 06/03/2019 18:31

So do they think that oestrogen 'makes' a women while simultaneously thinking that testosterone has no effect on physiology?

And what part of them makes them a woman? Not the brain, not the body, just the hormones that they cannot make enough of?

So what do they think that post menopausal women are?

OP posts:
EcclesThePeacock · 06/03/2019 18:44

I think this says it all about RMK

No; I think that to get the full picture you need to add that, on the basis of having a PhD with this inspiring title, McKinnon asserted 'I am a Doctor'.

I've never heard anyone with a doctorate plus normal levels of integrity call themselves 'a Doctor'. Especially in the midst of a debate in which medical and scientific understanding is important.

EcclesThePeacock · 06/03/2019 18:50

So what do they think that post menopausal women are?

Irrelevant?

PrestonsFlowers · 06/03/2019 18:53

Eccles
Too true
