So what does RK think constitutes a women?

RK says that there is no such thing as women's brain's and men's (I quite agree).

RK also says that there is no effect of testosterone on performance and there is no need to reduce levels or have surgery. So I assume they think that Male genitals have no effect.

So what does RK think constitutes a woman? Some one who wears a dress and make up? I'm really confused now. Why, exactly, does this person think they are a women?

None of the Gender Identity ideaology makes sense. Saying ‘I feel like a woman ergo I am one’ assumes that all women somehow feel the same and even more remarkably that you can know how other people feel inside including members of the opposite sex. Obviously this is impossible - despite 5 decades of experience I can say for certain only how I feel inside my own head. I havent the faintest idea how other women feel and certainly not how a man feels.

AnyOldPrion · 06/03/2019 21:14

This person really thinks there is no truth in sex at all? In any way?

I suspect this person knows perfectly well what sex is. However it’s more intoxicating to have the whole world jumping at your every word.

Katterinaballerina · 06/03/2019 21:18

If testosterone has no effect on performance why have (some) athletes taken drugs to raise their testosterone levels to (illegally) improve their performance? Indeed, why is it illegal for athletes to take drugs to raise their testosterone levels at all if it makes no difference?

NotTerfNorCis · 06/03/2019 21:50

I'm wondering if this is the direction trans ideology will take now. 'There is no way to prove objectively whether somebody is male or female.' The body doesn't count, and neither does the brain. It is purely subjective and down to individual conviction.

Ribosomes · 06/03/2019 22:00

And if testosterone has no effect and transwomen athletes have no advantage over women, why doesn't RmK compete against men?

OP posts:
EcclesThePeacock · 06/03/2019 22:38

why doesn't RmK compete against men?

Because RMK wouldn't win against them? Not because of being trans, just not being good enough. Theres a TW cyclist, Molly Cameron iirc, who did well in men's competitions (there was some issue that for a while the USA cycling body tried to make molly swap to women's)

There is some logic in what McKinnon says.

McKinnon says that it is a Human Rights matter. If the world is saying that transwomen are women (which they are) then transwomen should not be excluded from women's sports. McKinnon says it is discriminatory to deny them a place on the starting line.

To counter McKinnon arguments, governments and regulatory bodies would have to admit that, actually, transwomen are men. A u-turn at this stage would be embarressing for those who have championed 'gender identity' at government level.

Well, they should have thought of that before they championed the cause. They should have started with questions: 'Are transwomen really women? How? And where is the scientific evidence to prove it?'

They encouraged and emboldened transgender people. They said that McKinnon is a woman, entitled to the rights and resources reserved for born females. They are the ones responsible for McKinnon at al destroying women's sports and feeling entitled to take liberties with women's resources.

noraclavicle · 06/03/2019 22:42

McKinnon is basically the Nigel Farage of trans politics - given endless oppotunities by the BBC to spout their self-regard and opinions. Sadly for women, the BBC doesn’t seem to give a shit about the potential negative outcomes for women. Still, light & oxygen...

OccasionalKite · 06/03/2019 23:52

True, noraclavicle:
McKinnon is basically the Nigel Farage of trans politics - given endless oppotunities by the BBC to spout their self-regard and opinions.

But where is Farage these days? Nowhere to be seen.

RmK is now resembles a stupid car crash on a motorway, and I feel that I'm rubber-necking and feel slightly bad about that. I think someone at the BBC may have taken the old adage of "Give them enough rope...". Seems so, anyway. No-one I have talked to in real life takes any of RmK's stuff even vaguely seriously.

pombear · 06/03/2019 23:59

There's another PHD writer out there, watching closely. intending to deliver a very different PHD submission than RMK did (aka RMK's POMO-lying's all good, truth is dead!).

This is all just grist to the mill for that new PHD! Thanks RMK - keep going, keep walking up that hill!

(Checks self - never thought I'd type 'grist to the mill' in my life)

FloralBuntingIsObnoxious · 07/03/2019 00:06

McK is surely of the Bergdoff school of womanliness - woman are a fantasy. Woman is not biology or looks or interests or anything tangible at all.

We are kind of like ring wraiths in frilly knickers, floating between dimensions...

OccasionalKite · 07/03/2019 00:12

So is RMK just pushing bullshit for the sake of it, just to see how far it goes? Just for the hell of it?

Because to be honest, I don't think that project got off first base. I hope I shall not be tagged as unkind here, but for me and, well, lots of people - RMK appears to be a man, despite the spiffy haircut'n'colour, and "gender" protestations.

noraclavicle · 07/03/2019 00:35

OccasionalKite, I don’t feel bad. I’ve had my fill since early childhood of narcissistic males (and the odd female) and the destruction they wreak. Let McKinnon crash, they’re a mere coloniser who overplayed their hand massively. They loftily demanded of Martina ‘do you know who I am?’ Well now a lot more people do, and they’re not getting the reaction they wanted. We’re getting wiser to people like them.

On the other hand, I am insanely proud of Martina et al Grin

So what does RK think constitutes a women?
OccasionalKite · 07/03/2019 00:49

There is a current general "WTF" reaction by ordinary people about men in women's sport, and it is very, very encouraging.

Ribosomes · 07/03/2019 06:14

RmK is now reaching the outer limits of the weird.

Many trans people say that they have the 'wrong brain' in their body. I think this is a load of old pony but it has some degree of logic in it, even if it is wrong.

Old style transsexuals suffer dysphoria and have as much of their body changed as possible, to relieve it.

But RmK doesn't think there are sexed brains. And keeps their genitals and wants to keep their T levels.

I think the flat earthers are wrong but RmK isn't in flat earth territory. They are now beyond that, and are in the region of saying the earth is neither flat nor round, it doesn't exist at all.

Saying “I believe I am a woman, therefore I am one,” is in line with toddler thought process. By the time the vast majority of toddlers hit primary school, they’ve realized they aren’t the centre of the universe and that they can’t control the world with their thoughts, wishes, and demands.

I’m very curious about how and why a university would grant a doctorate to someone with the thought process of a two-year old, and I’m even more curious, in these days when it’s so difficult to land a job in the academy, about an institution that would employ such a person to teach.

AnotherBewilderedQuoll · 07/03/2019 06:46

I think McKinnon knows full well what constitutes a woman. But that doesn't suit McKinnon, so instead, what constitutes a woman will be said to be pretty much anything that allows McKinnon to get what McKinnon wants, truth be fucked.
I don't tend to have unconditional faith in the integrity of someone, when the reason they're known at all, is for unashamedly telling the most blatant lie of all.

NotTerfNorCis · 07/03/2019 06:55

What 'constitutes a woman' is being an adult member of the female reproductive sex. Female socialisation plays a part, although without it the person would still be a woman. McKinnon has neither the body nor the socialisation, so has to reduce being a woman to a feeling.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/03/2019 07:46

Well, yesterday I read a piece about 2 men having a baby.

And by 2 men I mean one man and one woman who has her downstairs woman bits but had been taking hormone drugs to change to being male.

They met on Grindr. They fell in love. The pondered whether the one with the uterus and womb could become pregnant. They did. They carried and gave birth to a baby boy.

Without wanting to overthink this - they must have been having, erm, straight sex. So the gay man was....? The f2m was....?

Funnily enough they were referring to the baby as ‘he’ (for he was male). How dare they assign a gender to this child.

FemalePersonator · 07/03/2019 07:49

McKinnon asserted 'I am a Doctor'.

I saw that tweet, too.

Can you imagine an emergency on an airplane?

Announcement: Could any medical personnel please make themselves known to cabin crew?
McKinnon: I'm a doctor!

FemalePersonator · 07/03/2019 07:52

about an institution that would employ such a person to teach.

Inclusivity. If the institution didn't hire McKinnon, the latter would be screeching about discrimination.

There was a recent post in Kiwi Farms that referred to McKinnon having some unspecified difficulties in obtaining tenure.

The College of Charleston has got itself into a bind here, I think. If they grant tenure, McKinnon is going to take this as licence to really go off the deep end (not that they're far from it, now) but if they deny tenure (and keep in mind that tenure is difficult to get; I know people who have been turned down) then they will have a legal battle on their hands.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/03/2019 07:52

Wasn’t that ‘I’m a doctor (comma) shithead’?

Yes that is exactly how my GP addresses people.

FemalePersonator · 07/03/2019 07:54

Yes, my Lord! You are correct.

RoomForMore · 07/03/2019 08:15

I read the title and thought I was going to be reading Ronan Keating's views Grin I'll get my coat...

IfNotNowThenWhy · 07/03/2019 08:16

So how are they anything other than what used to be called a a transvestite?
He isn't.
