www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/carmen-liu-lingerie-for-transgender-women_uk_5c752532e4b0bf16620329b4

Was just reading this on Huffpost and was struck by this line quoted from the Lingerie creator Carmen Liu.

"But trying on the first complete pair made the hard graft worth it, she says. “I got really emotional just to feel like a woman finally,"

I thought the whole point of being a transwoman was that you ALWAYS felt like a woman! You have the inner brain, feelings and sparkle of a woman, that you were born in the wrong body, not the wrong knickers!

For all women, except I don't need room for my penis.
In fact I don't even have one Shock

Katvonfelttipeyebrows · 02/03/2019 11:01

You feel "undesired and unaccepted" because high street shops don't make women's underwear that helps tuck a penis?

Okay......

Britain's First Transgender Lingerie Brand Is Here To Make All Women Feel Sexy

why does that headline feel like a threat? fuck off with your colonisation - women don't have to feel like you to validate you

DoctoressPlague · 02/03/2019 11:09

If this range is for those who need to be able to tuck, why not call it men's lingerie and target the whole male market?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 02/03/2019 11:15

But trying on the first complete pair made the hard graft worth it, she says. “I got really emotional just to feel like a woman finally, just to be wearing something that was actually called ‘lingerie’ and to know how many women would be having that same feeling,” she says

Women don't put on lingerie and then feel like women. They're just women all the time. I'm guessing zero women have the same feeling that Carmen was experiencing.

It's almost as if Carmen sees women as a collection of things you can put on to feel sexy, rather than actual human beings.

Sage words doctoress - no women want or need penis-tucking knickers so they are shooting themselves in the foot marketing them at us.

Sam2112 · 02/03/2019 11:37

Insanity !
women do not need underwear to accommodate a penis. Simple.
This is just trans appeasement AGAIN.
I am intersex, lived as female from age to 9 - 19
AND yes i had "ambiguous" genitalia (that is the term when u have a bot of both) ... BUT i cope with underwear designed for women, yes it was NOT a normal "penis", actually medical term is "micro penis", not larger than an enlarge clitoris (sorry to be blunt- but hope explains)

i did not scream for special underwear, i have adapted, and YES being a a person who has normal cycle, i had to use protection, and could not find pads that were comfortable, and pants were not great - (to be blunt the gusset was too narrow for pads and my issues)

I find it sickening and sad that any company would design womens underwear for men - it is getting too stupid to believe... yes people need underwear for different issues, i am sadly a very leaky human being and have tried so many -

BUT this is suggesting that men who dress up as women ARE WOMEN...

wake up UK - this is crazy .

Well, I for one can never feel sexy myself unless I know that somewhere out there, a transwoman is tucking their dick into a pair of lacy knickers that has been especially designed for a dick to be tucked into. Then I'm good to go.

Lamaha · 02/03/2019 11:39

The whole male lingerie thing and about "feeling sexy" as a woman: it's all about validation, isn't it. These people want to be validated in the fiction that TWAW and many of us go along, or went along, with the fiction out of kindness and compassion. But we all know it's not literally true. They know it as well.
I believe that the secret knowledge that it's not true, can never be true, leads to an enormous build up of rage, which is why we get so much bullying.
The bottom line is: in the end, what's the point of feeling sexy if the object of your lust, real men and women, whether straight or gay or even bisexual, really don't believe you are women, won't sleep with you, won't choose you as a marriage partner, ever? Which is the case I would, guess, with 90% of biological males and females, maybe even more.
In the end there is no validation, and that's why they are so mad -- in the American sense of the word.
You might feel sexy to yourself, but that's usually about it.

Sam2112 · 02/03/2019 11:40

and the line "to feel like a woman"

ARGHHHHH - only women know what it "feels" like to be a woman.

i don't know, i just feel like me.

men who dress as women can only know what it feels like to be a MAN WHO DRESSES AS A WOMAN...

please stop this madness -

youmeandconchitawurst · 02/03/2019 11:52

I have no issue with this - everyone can wear whatever knickers they want and I really don't care. Knickers are a personal choice and my personal choice is that I don't find lacy lingerie sexy, just itchy in all the wrong places.

So I will continue to wear my period stained granny knickers because that's how I roll when I'm on the rag. And I don't think I'll feel any sexier in them because someone else somewhere else is wearing frillies, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's like the butterfly and the hurricane?

Katvonfelttipeyebrows · 02/03/2019 11:53

Frank Bough would now be brave and stunning for his support of the struggling sex "industry" and his use of silky undies!
Well done Frank for also supporting the drugs industry.

(I was interested to see the UN call sex work an industry in their discrimination snippets)

Carmen Liu is under the impression. that "woman" = sex object if putting on underwear designed for the male gaze makes her "feel like a woman."
So sick of this AGP fetish pretending to be something it isn't.

Hamster00 · 02/03/2019 12:07

It gets worse...

....actually clicking on the store link and browsing said garments, this little "gem" appears....

"An adorable thong panty made with a fabulous soft to touch satin fabric, lined with 100% cotton which keeps the girls snugly tucked in. A charming scalloped detailed finish, which accentuates the already beautiful fabric."

...because of course, a big old hairy wang with a droopy wrinkly nutbag is INCREDIBLY feminine right?

goldengummybear · 02/03/2019 12:09

"The feeling" is surely short hand for "turned on as I'm an autogynephile"

Katvonfelttipeyebrows · 02/03/2019 12:11

Oh hamster Grin

I've never been able to get my head around any type of thong. Just nah. Uncomfortable.

titchy · 02/03/2019 12:14

Those pictures - they don't even hide said offending member. Hmm

Now100 · 02/03/2019 13:11

I was really confused reading that. I was wondering how big the market is for transwomen who want to wear lingerie.

As a short woman I find only a few shops stock petite sizes and I think petite women are a far larger population than transwomen, so I couldn't imagine this becoming standard on the high street.

Then reading comments here it came to me - this underwear will be suitable for any man - and trying on women's underwear is s pretty common fantasy. So I imagine they will find a large market of men for it.

the shape of our bodies doesn’t always work with cis female clothes – so it would be nice to see some brands go a bit further to help us.

^ with that comment she's actually far closer to experiencing life as a woman than she realises Grin

FFS, entitled much? Women come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes, shopping can be a total pain the arse for the majority of us. Ask anyone shorter/taller/fatter/thinner than the norm! My SIL has 34" legs, I don't see many brands providing special clothing for her and there are surely more long-legged women out there than 'women's with a penis... Hmm

HermioneWeasley · 02/03/2019 13:24

This is what I don't get. I mean a 2 sec Google search with no effort brings up this shop.hommemystere.com/. I'm sure there are dozens of others with a wider range. Why is a "special thing"... Confused

Whatsnewpussyhat · 02/03/2019 14:00

Why did I have to click the link...

Women have never needed to tuck their dicks in their knickers. Because women don't have dicks.

happydappy2 · 02/03/2019 14:34

Clearly there’s a gap in the market for tuck friendly lingerie....but no women will be buying it.

Lefthanddown · 02/03/2019 14:39

It is sometimes mentioned by TW that they are weaker and unable to do basic tasks, but I wonder now, if it's not physical weakness that is plaguing them and making them unable to carry bags , but the fact they are concentrating so much on walking round with their penis tucked, bound and shoved into impractical underwear. They'd probably gain so much more freedom in a pair of boxers, or pants.
