Would you have supported this Bill going through?

Anyone who thinks this is in anyway ok seriously needs to have a look into the conscience.

Yeh totally, I think you've been reasonable on this thread. I think some other posters needed to actually do some research about where this clip came from and what the bill actually was.

I think your (general you) personal morality on abortion 'on demand' without limits is totally your morality, but most laws do have some limits. I don't think some limits are bad, as long as there is room for exceptional circumstances. That's the case with this law, and with UK law, and most good abortion laws.

She must have known there would be questions like that - there kind of have to be questions like that because you can't just wave legislation through

Yes she really should have known better. It’s not just her though, the VA governor said something totally dumb that’s now making the rounds:

“So in this particular example if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen, the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother”

.......he should have just refused to say anything if he didn’t really know the contents of the bill. This is a terrible soundbite that’s not going to help at all. That said, looks like the governor is going to have to resign for something unrelated, but still, I cannot believe he’d say that on the record.
