Being investigated at work

I know this isn't a FWR issue as such, but it is pertinent to the trans debate.
There was an article a couple of months ago in the Daily Mail about a transwoman complaining about the NHS not providing electolysis; I was discussing this article with a colleague and I said something along the lines of that it wasn't fair to other hirsute women if they weren't allowed to have electolysis on the NHS.
It seems that someone overheard the conversation and reported me to my bosses. An informal investigation, "a fact finding chat", has taken place and I am currently waiting to see if this is going to be takem further. FFS.
If it is taken further then I am going to defend myself with all I've got; I am prepared to die on this hill.

I wonder if your colleague has read anything about the cultural revolution in China!

RCohle · 31/01/2019 00:14

I'm angry on your behalf OP, this is madness.

MsMcWoodle · 31/01/2019 13:38

Good god. This is insane.
Solidarity.

I sincerely hope no one working in the health service seriously believes TWAW.Confused

Essentially, it seems to me you were saying it was unfair that an identical treatment, cosmetic rather than medically essential, but therapeutic in that it alleviates psychological distress, should only be available free to males but not females. Simple sexism.

Is there any way you could also turn it around on whoever reported you for being transphobic because as po have said, what they have assumed is that you were being transphobic but actually if (for the sake of the complaint!) you meant that you were refering to all women (and that you had assumed that included transwomen ) then they were the ones that were making the hateful assumption not you...

Guessing that has a better chance of success than accusing them of being hateful to women or something along those lines...

But they were definitely wrong for snitching on you for complaining about that. It would serve them right to experience the same treatment that you have had for this - I reckon too many people are happy enough to through out unjustified accusations because they know that they won’t have to suffer any consequences, whereas actually they deserve much more.

Solidarity, Millipede.

Just ridiculous. Solidarity from me too.

Solidarity OP.

I recently dealt with a young girl in a professional capacity who wanted a breast symmetrisation procedure. She is 21, has one A cup breast and one G cup breast. She is suffering from depression, anxiety, extremely low self esteem, has never had a relationship. She was turned down for surgery as it wasn't deemed clinically necessary.

The fact that the CCG would refuse funding for this poor girl yet a man can have a fake vagina put in and a free boob job is disgusting.
