Looks like that's about the size of it Datun.

Ok thanks. My understanding of libertarianism is pretty much "who pays for roads?" Liberalism I took to mean a focus on basic individual freedoms within a loose but accepted social contract.
I read the Handmaid's Tale several years ago and didn't enjoy it (I doubt you're supposed to enjoy it, but you know what I mean).
Again my understanding of liberal feminism is "don't scare the horses menfolk" and "we are cool girls". Radical feminism I honestly don't know much about. I think Germaine Greer is very interesting and so often misquoted or taken out of context. Someone like Dworkin I know nothing about, I find her a bit scary to be honest but maybe that's just some internalised homophobia in me because of her presentation. Don't shoot me for the last bit, I'm only being honest.

Thank you for posting that first link, I haven't looked at the second. I agree with a small part of it (but mostly disagree).
I don't want to derail but it's given me a direction to go off and research in. Thanks.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 27/12/2018 12:53

Flying - There's so much in your post I'm not sure how to respond. LF (and RF) were a bit different in the second wave to what they are now. I'm not sure that the third wavers have ever read the founding texts (including Wollstonecraft and HTM). I don't think that Greer can be categorised. To some extent, I think she might be an anarcho-liberal ... I have a huge soft-spot for Dworkin, despite disagreeing with her. John Stoltenberg is also an interesting character. I'd like to meet him.

Datun Looks like it. I had seen lots of rumours re influence high up in twitter but was really shocked to see that photo on the twitter feed today. In fact now I think about it - could there be a subtle agenda reposting a tweet from 2014 today? I just scrolled a little way down the twitter feed of said person and there it was.

Iused2BanOptimist · 27/12/2018 13:02

Posted earlier today.

I mean, Twitter employs stand-up folks like Dana McCallum, convicted of raping (am I allowed to say "his" here, MNHQ, in light of the person being a convicted rapist?) Dana's wife.

GrinitchSpinach · 27/12/2018 13:09

Sorry, McCallum pled guilty so it didn't actually go to trial.

TimeLady · 27/12/2018 13:38

The explanation for the photograph may be here:

vegasdamsel.wordpress.com/2014/08/27/sage-summit-review/

Scroll down and you'll see that TPWMNBN is one of the conference's "social influencer team".

That might also explain why they felt it necessary to buy in a job lot of followers, as presumably that's what lands you that sort of role.

The pic with the boss is probably just a happy/useful accident, but I reckon its being put out there now to suggest TPWMNBN has influential friends Wink. But if I was the boss, I have it removed pronto.

Freespeecher · 27/12/2018 13:52

Yes, I think I'm a Liberal rather than a Libertarian as I'm quite happy with others airing opposing views to my own and us agreeing to differ but I'm against, say, decriminalising drugs.

'Do what thou wilt' shall not be the whole of the law for me.

Instead of the Twitter boss looking like he consorts with men who have an unhealthy interest in children. Still, if he's happy to let that go, perhaps JY has something on him?

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 27/12/2018 14:13

I think so too. It's certainly a massive coincidence that he makes his profile public then retweets a four year old picture.

GrinitchSpinach · 27/12/2018 15:20

Hailey H does claim to have a friend "at Twitter safety," so perhaps JY is acquainted, too?

Screenshot of HH's tweet in Meghan Murphy's article here:

Scientistagainsttranscult · 27/12/2018 17:13

This man needs to be stopped. The whole situation is extremely sinister and for social media to behave in such a protective way towards this man is bizarre at best, its left me completely incredulous. This man dresses like a handmaiden one minute and goes by Jonathan for his business the next and cries misgendering. This insanity must end.

userschmoozer · 27/12/2018 17:18

I'm laughing at the 'cough' dominatrix who feels the need to publish a photo of them standing next to an authority figure to boost their own authority. Grin

AspieAndProud · 27/12/2018 17:28

It’s possible JY has an imaginary relationship with Twitterboss.

That would certainly be consistent with a Cluster B borderline personality disorder.

Scientistagainsttranscult · 27/12/2018 17:33

That's exactly what I've been saying for ages, he must have something in someone.

userschmoozer · 27/12/2018 17:40

On! You mean 'on'!

Scientistagainsttranscult · 27/12/2018 17:55

sackrifice · 27/12/2018 17:56

Lol.

Datun · 27/12/2018 18:05

😂

TimeLady · 28/12/2018 05:37

TPWMNBN has just got the guy who runs KiwiFarms a 12 hr ban on Twitter.

The "gloves are off..."

Where's the popcorn?

deepwatersolo · 28/12/2018 06:52

I am very much opposed to ‚judge a Book by its cover‘. I am. But it strikes me These guys all look so similar. what is up with the ,dough faces‘ of people like JY, the Twitter cofounder who apparently enables hin, and pretty much every Furry (eg AChallenor) I come across. Estrogen shots? A total lack of fresh air and sunlight? The belief that all that counts is the look of your online avatar, so why bother? What‘s up with that?

AngryAttackKittens · 28/12/2018 07:12

If I looked like TPWMNBN I'd certainly be a lot more reluctant to put photos of myself all over the internet than they seem to be, and that's without the minor wrinkle of claiming to be part of a demographic one was not born into. In fact I can't imagine that many women with an equivalent sort of look would be as keen to attach images of themselves to their social media presence.

I can never figure out if it's AGP distorting people's self-perception or if it's a sort of gleeful sneering at the world of the "well what are you going to do about it?" variety.
