I got a gin subscription, a lovely silver necklace, and a book in a mystery series I was going to buy for myself but never got round to.
I will be getting Michelle Obama and Dame Prof Sue Black's books for myself. I've decided to read only books by women in 2019.

Despite being a writer and researcher - no one ever gets me books or anything remotely feministy. I get lovely practical and beautiful gifts - but sometimes I want my passions to be recognised.

Framed presentation set of Harry Potter stamps. As a HP fan and on-and-off stamp collector it's an inspired gift.

Also a necklace that I was admiring a few months ago and nearly bought but chickened out because it was not my usual style and too expensive to buy on a whim.

He's pretty good at presents when he puts his mind to it.

A couple of nice bath sets & some comfy socks

Going to get one out later and enjoy a long soak in the bath once the kids in late in bed, followed by reading one of the nice new books I bought myself because I wasn't expecting any gifts

Some fancy polyhedral dice and video games! :D Thankfully no smelly pink bathroom stuff or wine yet this year! We've had about 10 impractical pink dresses in a row for baby DD though, and my older DS has had even more toy vehicles from family even though he has about 50 already. :(

The periodic table of feminism from ds2. So he has been listening all these years! Lots of lovely indulgent pampering stuff, Kirsty Allsop felt knitting set, enormous ivory shawl/ scarf, mp3 player... Ive been very spoilt and feel so lucky. But best gift was all the family together for the day and no falling out! Went to bed at 10 exhausted and a bit drunk. Now wide awake with hangover.

My most feminist gift was from DBIL- the novel Circe by Madeline Miller. Looking forward to reading it!
