Male police officers can intimately search women. New guidance

Apologies if this has been posted, but I am sickened that new Police guidance (written by Stonewall obvs) enables male officers who ID as women to search women.

We are meant to be reassured that 'only' officers who ID as women can perform such searches. Apparently there's a lot of misunderstanding about this.

Well, given that there are more men who commit crime than women, then there will be more male transgender offenders than female transgender offenders. Obviously.

So this will disproportionally affect female officers if they are going to be instructed to search fully-intact male transgender people.

Male officers having to search fully-intact female people will be a much rarer occurrence. But with its own issues of course.

Police are going to have a raft of lawsuits both from officers forced to search a member of the opposite sex and from offenders upset at someone of the "wrong sex" searching them.

They absolutely need to get on top of this.

No, there won't be 'a raft of lawsuits' because no one can afford to bring them. Legal aid isn't available for this sort of thing any more. Sad

Enter the Trans Equality Legal Initiative.

Who are actively looking for test cases.

Jess Bradley was a founder. Jess Bradley, the NUS Trans Officer, currently suspended for public masturbation.

Jess Bradley had very expensive legal representation who tried to use the Cliff Richard ruling to gag the press from reporting on the whole business.

The Daily Mail reported it anyway, including the fact that the lawyers tried to stop the story.

time to contact our police and crime commissioners! www.apccs.police.uk/find-your-pcc/

"PCCs have been elected by the public to hold Chief Constables and the force to account, effectively making the police answerable to the communities they serve."

about time they were useful for something
