...the mother on the other hand is coming off as a nightmare. Conned her own mother out of her savings and forged her husband's signature and took their son off in secret. It's very revealing how misjudged this is if it was thought this was going to get the viewer on her side.

Mother rants at guardian. Max looks petulant. Again.

To me his character came across as creepy and exploitative. I assume he's not meant to.

Also Maxine, when interviewed by the security at airport, said 'mum did it to stop me being suicidal'.

Just read an article about if there will be a 2nd series. Surely ITV wouldn't commission another after such low viewing figures and if they do I can't imagine it being in a prime slot.

I know Tony Marchant is supposed to be a great scriptwriter, but this is so badly written.
