Women's Hour have finally opened discussion to the self-id gender 'debate' and will be discussing this tomorrow.

I know many have been so frustrated, angry, concerned etc by the failure.

The opportunity now exists to raise the issues which impact on women.

Hopefully many will respond

Done. Not sure if I dare listen. I usually end up throwing something at the radio when I listen to Woman’s Hour. The pathetic non women related topics they cover infuriate me (e.g. marmalade making, which I heard once - that should have been on a cooking programme) and their ‘fun feminist’ stance irritates the hell out of me (anything a woman does is feminist! Hooray!).

Manderleyagain · 15/10/2018 23:07

Done too.

DontCisgenderMe · 15/10/2018 23:30

Done.

Angryresister · 15/10/2018 23:32

Done

nocoolnamesleft · 15/10/2018 23:35

Sent to the email address: autoreply, but mentions that if you have asked to be anonymous this will be respected.

Farinthepast · 15/10/2018 23:55

Done.

Does anyone know what part of the programme it will be on?

borntobequiet · 16/10/2018 06:42

Bump.
For all it’s infuriating, WH is the BBC’s flagship women’s programme and carries more clout than it deserves. Tell them what you think.

ChicagoLil · 16/10/2018 06:55

Jenni Murray is supportive and ran a feature on why you can't be a woman if you don't have a womb.

Jane Garvey is also a feisty not-to-be-mesed-with woman. I have high hopes for this.

Floisme · 16/10/2018 07:19

Done. I asked to be anonymous, which was the main thrust of my email: why are women unable to talk openly about how a change in the law might affect us?

I can't listen live which is probably just as well but I'll catch up later.

Chosenone · 16/10/2018 07:20

Done. Forgot about remaining anonymous.
Was concise and to the point. Got the auto reply.
I really hope it's not all the inclusive 'stunning and brave' rhetoric 🤔

FuriousFifties · 16/10/2018 07:21

Done, feel better for getting that off my chest.

silentcrow · 16/10/2018 08:09

Done. So upsetting to try to persuade people not to ignore children's safety and mental health.

Foxxinsoxx · 16/10/2018 08:17

I have emailed and asked to remain anonymous. I’ve also written a (second) letter to my MP letting her know about the meeting in the HoC and I’ve nearly finished the consultation. I am beyond furious now!!!

borntobequiet · 16/10/2018 08:50

Just sent a further email with additional concerns. There’s so much to say...

Miladymilord · 16/10/2018 08:53

I've emailed saying that not being able to discuss things and lack of knowledge means that only the most spun, emotive voices are heard. Think of farage and Brexit. We need rational facts to make such an important decision.

averylongtimeago · 16/10/2018 09:15

Done. I don't know if it will do any good, the BBC seems to have picked it's side.

Miladymilord · 16/10/2018 09:33

I remember listening to More Or Less a few months ago - the programme on the BBC where they look behind popular statistics and get to the truth of the maths behind it.

They were talking about trans suicide rates and the normally stringent research was just about what a trans awareness group said they were, then extrapolated to cover the whole population

Hmm

We’re on @BBCWomansHour this morning at 10am discussing the impact of GRA changes on women.

MrsFogi · 16/10/2018 09:46

Given the latest BBC bs about non binary pronouns I have little faith in them covering this in a fair way.

MrsFogi · 16/10/2018 09:46

I have nonetheless emailed WH of course. I won't give up!

AbsintheFriends · 16/10/2018 09:48

Good news about FPFW!

crunchermuncher · 16/10/2018 09:49

Done. Also done a second email to my MP re the meeting at HoC today as he's not even replied...
Not giving up!

Tragedy · 16/10/2018 09:49

I have a sinking feeling about today's topic. I'm predicting lots of soft voices, vague, open questions and a total whitewash of the subject.
I really hope I'm wrong.

doublethink · 16/10/2018 09:51

I can't bear to listen! Can some braver soul give us a rundown please?!

ToeToToe · 16/10/2018 09:52

Tragedy - I'm pretty sure you're right. But you know, they know - the bbc have clearly been given a line here. They've never been the best judges of safeguarding measures for women and children. Jimmy Saville.
