Glad to see that the BBC does report the remarks as to using their 'transgender persona' to put themselves in contact with vulnerable women.

And one example like this is one too many! Never should have been allowed to happen, obvious that it would eventually, and also totally bloody obvious what needs to be done to stop it ever happening again.

Well let’s not forget that under self ID this dangerous individual merely has to say they are a woman and that is enough. No other commitment needed.

There was someone on here last night pushing this line (on the Jo Brand thread). I pointed out that 98% of sex offenders were male, there were more male sex offenders than the total female prison population, there were no specialist women's prisons for sex offenders, and even if you were to open one, you would add to the 120 natal women in prison for sex offences an additional 48 prisoners currently in the male estate for sex offences who "identify as trans". Given that trans people allegedly account for 1% of the population, 48 out of a grand total of 168 seems like something of a statistical anomaly, to put it mildly.

But yes - men do it to other men too. That makes it all fine, doesn't it?

There’s no logic to putting women prisoners at risk of being sexually assaulted and raped just because there are men in prison at risk of being sexually assaulted and raped. Unless you’re the kind of person that thinks everyone should be treated abominably becuse they have committed a crime, which doesn’t seem very Guardian like.
