I can't read it all as I've had my free article allowance this month, but it looks promising. Comments section is 50/50 despair/heartening

The Herald is one of Scotland's main broadsheets.

Yes, that bloke repeatedly asking for evidence, then ignoring it when supplied. Very much like the agents provocateur we get on here from time to time

QuaterMiss · 02/10/2018 06:00

the fetishisation of difference

and

the confused and intolerant cult of diversity.

Brilliantly put in the article.

But yes, outstanding effort by Charlie in the comments.

IdaBWells · 02/10/2018 06:26

Excellent job Charlie! Thank you for defending us all!!

deepwatersolo · 02/10/2018 06:44

Just because it came up in the article: I believe the TRAs have so much Support in their political parties because quite a few white male members are closeted autogynephile ceossdressers and some are paedos, and they now see an opening to turn their paraphilia into an asset and - despite their white maleness - win the oppression olympics in politics.

WineGummyBear · 02/10/2018 07:14

Wow- Go Charlie!

Thisimmortalcurl · 02/10/2018 07:21

Great article and wow Charlie ... amazing !

Igneococcus · 02/10/2018 07:21

I know someone in the comments, eeeek, he might even be at something work-related this week.

Xiaoxiong · 02/10/2018 07:21

Charlie you are amazing. Absolute legend. It must be frustrating that you listed so much devastating evidence and they never came back to engage but I'm imagining them sitting there starting a response...deleting it...starting one again...deleting it because there can be no comeback to actual evidence.

MadamBatty · 02/10/2018 07:21

Great work Charlie, half expecting posters to pop up her & say ‘I am Charlie’

Is it ok to say I identify as Charlie?

Igneococcus · 02/10/2018 07:21

Yes, Charlie is fab.

Xiaoxiong · 02/10/2018 07:22

Igneo is the person you know gender critical? Or the other side?

Igneococcus · 02/10/2018 07:29

Other side. I might tackle him when I get a chance on Thursday. I might never get invited to that sort of event again in future which I wouldn't be too sad about.

MissDai5y · 02/10/2018 07:36

Thank you for posting this. The article was interesting, the comments section was amazing.

Not gonna lie, in awe of Charlie.

scepticalwoman · 02/10/2018 07:45

Charlie is an amazing articulate woman!

TheCuriousMonkey · 02/10/2018 07:53

Great article, but the comments really made it. Charlie was awesome. Covered just about all the issues in a clear, accurate yet concise way. I wish I was able to do that.

If Charlie isn't a mumsnetter she bloody well should be.

IfNotNowThenWhen1 · 02/10/2018 07:57

Well someone did a winky face.. and is called Charlie!

Bowlofbabelfish · 02/10/2018 07:57

I think Charlie is definitely a mumsnetter ;)

Datun · 02/10/2018 08:04

@CharlieParley is it you?

The patience of Charlie in that article is phenomenal. She must have been smacking her head on the table.

And the twits arguing! Predictable, small minded, sexist wankers.

ChrysanthemumsAreMums · 02/10/2018 08:11

deepwater

I think so too

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 02/10/2018 08:45

Utterly brilliant comments from Charlie. Most of them are on this archived version of the article: <a class="break-all" href="https://web.archive.org/web/20181001135420/www.heraldscotland.com/opinion/16911183.stuart-waiton-why-is-the-state-pushing-harmful-transgender-agenda/#comments-anchor" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">web.archive.org/web/20181001135420/www.heraldscotland.com/opinion/16911183.stuart-waiton-why-is-the-state-pushing-harmful-transgender-agenda/#comments-anchor.

As far as I can make out, the wayback machine regularly scans all sorts of webpages and archives them. This one was captured early yesterday afternoon and Charlie was posting well into the evening, so still worth logging on to The Herald to read them on site. You can do that free of charge by providing an email address, same sort of arrangement as The Times.

writingbymoonlight · 02/10/2018 08:54

Amazing responses from Charlie!

One thing that struck me, if you don’t mind my repeating it here for the benefit of those who won’t find their way over to the Herald article & I’m paraphrasing) is that the only reason that men known to children are more likely to abuse them is because these are currently the men with easy, unsupervised access, not because abuse is inherently practised against children known to the abuser. It’s about access, nothing more, nothing less.

Thingybob · 02/10/2018 08:58

Wow thanks Charlie, you really know your onions.

LangCleg · 02/10/2018 09:06

Wow. I've just been through the entire thing.

Charlie Noack: I salute you.

Charley50 · 02/10/2018 09:08

Wow. I've just been through the entire thing.

Charlie Noack: I salute you.
Me too!

hackmum · 02/10/2018 09:19

Another "Well done, Charlie" from me. That was brilliant. And I'm sure Charlie has to be on here somewhere.

Someone else made this comment: "I really think the trans thing is being propagated by Russian web agitators." This is also something I've thought for a long time but of course it sounds a bit paranoid to say so, doesn't it? And yet what we know about the way Russian trolls work makes it seem incredibly likely.
