Posie Parker is just in make-up and about to go up against Mr Harrop. Please tune in and send her lots of good vibes!

I almost didn’t want to watch this. I’m so worried about the message becoming transphobic bigoted hysterical women.

But Posie totally nailed that. It was absolutely the correct strategy to stay on point: stop erasing women.

Bravo!

kayaking · 26/09/2018 19:12

I agree. Allow Posie back! Unless MNHQ supports Adrian Harrop?

Molokonono · 26/09/2018 19:14

I agree.

We need her on here just to pat her on the fucking back in person.

TwistedStitch · 26/09/2018 19:14

I LOVED it when she just leaned back her head laughing at him. Exactly what his nonsense deserves. He had absolutely no argument, and made himself a laughing stock.

bottomflannel · 26/09/2018 19:14

Posie. Fucking. Parker. Utter legend! What an amazing adult human female she is.

Pacers · 26/09/2018 19:19

I have just watched the clip.

Posie, you are an absolute legend.

Thank you FlowersFlowersFlowers

Fwend · 26/09/2018 19:22

I was afraid to watch this too. I so hope the tide turns in time. Thank you Posie, for being braver than I am!

Floisme · 26/09/2018 19:26

I've not watched it yet but bloody well done, Posie.

And I love those red trousers you were wearing outside court this morning.

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 26/09/2018 19:27

That was so awesome. He looked utterly deranged.

My favourite bits were when he claimed "woman" meant anyone who identified as a woman. But then said that wouldn't apply for hospital treatment and when he accused her of "appropriating" the word "woman".

He was outclassed and outgunned.

littlebillie · 26/09/2018 19:28

I really think MNHQ should re-think their ban of Posie.

It's not going to look so smart that MN joined the ranks of the mass silencers of women. This is all beginning to come out now.

Absolutely!!!

Second this Smile

TwistedStitch · 26/09/2018 19:30

At the point where she said 'the ball is back in your court' I actually thought he was going to cry. I think he was genuinely shocked at how articulate she was and that she was massively showing him up.

nicenewdusters · 26/09/2018 19:31

Dr Harrup may like to re-read his General Medical Council Good Medical Practice Guidance.

Domain 1: 14.1 You must have the necessary knowledge of the English Language to provide a good standard of practice and care in the UK.

He may come unstuck here with his inability to accept the dictionary definition of woman.

Domain 2: 47 You must treat patients as individuals and respect their dignity and privacy.

So maybe remember to shut the curtains in a&e between Sarah and Sara, as Sarah is biologically and actually a man, and Sara has the right to her dignity and privacy - as does Sarah.

65 You must make sure that your conduct justifies your patients' trust in you and the public's trust in the profession.

Have already seen one man on Twitter saying he's going to complain to the GMC about him.

TwistedStitch · 26/09/2018 19:32

And she did so well just keeping the focus on the definition of woman and not getting sidetracked by the wider issues in such a short segment IMO. Just made him look like a mysogynistic fool.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/09/2018 19:39

Just made him look like a mysogynistic fool.

TBF, that seems to come naturally to him.

Theswaggyotter · 26/09/2018 19:40

Well done posie that was amazing! Totally nailed it in very simple language meaning anyone watching would ‘get’ what you were talking about and see how ludicrous the transphobia claims are

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/09/2018 19:45

Media will be queueing up for Posie now - she's great TV. Telegenic, charismatic, articulate, plain-speaking and totally fearless.

TerfsUp · 26/09/2018 19:47

It's not going to look so smart that MN joined the ranks of the mass silencers of women.

Agreed.

starcrossedseahorse · 26/09/2018 19:47

She is a fucking legend. He looked every bit the snivelling little wanker that he is.

starcrossedseahorse · 26/09/2018 19:47

It's not going to look so smart that MN joined the ranks of the mass silencers of women

Also agreed.

Ereshkigal · 26/09/2018 19:50

Refusing to make it pseudo-intelleuctual is exactly the way to do this. He comes across as insane and abusive. I thought the talking over was fine, he looked like a silly smart arse boy and she held her ground calmly and refused to give way.

She totally let him hang him himself

Agree! I only saw the abridged version but Posie was a force to be reckoned with and our Ade came across like the deranged misogynist he is.

Ereshkigal · 26/09/2018 19:52

And ouch those Twitter comments! Snowflakes who block everyone GC and have never heard a contrary opinion can't get over how "transphobic" everyone normal is.

HandsOffMyRights · 26/09/2018 19:52

It's not going to look so smart that MN joined the ranks of the mass silencers of women

This

DickTERFin · 26/09/2018 19:53

And that, people, was a master class in nailing slimy shits to the wall.

Well done Posie, you were glorious.

HandsOffMyRights · 26/09/2018 19:54

And she did so well just keeping the focus on the definition of woman and not getting sidetracked by the wider issues

So right Twisted. MRAs love to deviate and make this about 'transphobia' (grabs T*y crucifix)

TimeLady · 26/09/2018 19:56

Melanie McGonagh writing about the poster in The Spectator

blogs.spectator.co.uk/2018/09/when-a-dictionary-definition-becomes-hate-speech/

and she's so on Posie's side

But Mrs Keen-Minshull is not a happy adult human female. She takes the view that her freedom of speech has been curtailed and moreover that ‘we’re in a new realm of misogyny when the word ‘woman’ becomes hate speech’. Not just that, I’d say. We’ve arrived at a moment when language itself has ceased to convey meaning, when all debate is null because we do not have access to words in which to conduct it.

Thank you, Ms McGonagh Flowers
