Shaun Pudwell 'posed as a girl' to try to rape girls of 12 and 13 years old.
www.thefreelibrary.com/Cyber+creep+facing+prison%3B+He+posed+as+a+girl.-a0169721830
Now Shaun is legally recognised as a girl, under the name of Michelle Lewin, and has a gender recognition certificate. This is a mechanism designed to keep secret, with criminal penalties, the fact Michelle has male biology.
As Michelle has a GRC Michelle has a right to be in women's prison. That is the system TRAs created and lobbied for.
Michelle is under an indefinite sentence, which means that it's deemed that Michelle is a very dangerous sex offender for whom normal punishment rules don't apply, it's more important to protect the public from Michelle.
However this protection is not apparently extended to the women & girls (it's a female YOI) in HMP Peterborough having to share with Michelle.

“Low level sex pest”
Sounds like the kind of thing a low level sex pest would say if you ask me. Paedophilic crime is paedophilic crime.
ErrolTheDragon · 18/09/2018 17:23
besides the likes of...separating feminine and masculine stuff in shops. Clothes wise
Not necessarily even that, IMO. Women and men are typically different sizes and shapes. My DD and I would love some less 'feminine' options on the petite women's rails.
Lazypoolday · 18/09/2018 17:28
I'm in absolute shock that a person in possession of 1000+ images of child abuse, including of toddlers has been described as a "low level sex pest". WTAF

Yup of course you are right. So the one thing I could think of where 'gender' might be used to separate...it still shouldn't be really!

Indeed. In that category, I'd place blokes on building sites who shout 'Hello, darlin'! You goin' out with me tonight, then?'
CrackpotsArePots · 18/09/2018 22:29
Oh that's probably the charmer who's just turned up another thread. Thinks he's clever. Isn't
scepticalwoman · 18/09/2018 22:30
I wonder how many other male born sex offenders like this are in women's prisons that we have yet to hear about?
Latinista · 18/09/2018 22:38

It has been established that there are 25 MTF transsexuals in women’s prisons currently. If they conform to the ratio of 48% convicted as sex offenders which is the ratio identified for MTF transsexual prisoners as a whole, that suggests there are 12 convicted MTF sex offenders in the women’s estate. What stage they are at in their transition is undisclosed.

Heads up that this thread may be deleted if there is a parallel one one running in AIBU.
THis has just happened with the thread in FWR about mastectomies.
So sorry Rowantrees I did not know that MN would do something like that. Why would they? Diffferent people, different conversations. Not really a duplicate. A FWRer mentioned making an AIBU of somethng while ago and today I thought more people need to know so jsut did it.
I hpe this thread will stay up.
ErrolTheDragon · 18/09/2018 23:31
Seafret- there's some discussion on the parallel thread thing on the 'public announcement' thread - hopefully MNHQ will take on board the suggestion to close rather than delete a parallel thread if they feel there shouldn't be two.
R0wantrees · 18/09/2018 23:46
seafret I completely agree and was a bit bemused by the thread deletion on the basis of two threads running, especially as the FWR had started last night.
Hopefully as Errol says MN will consider closing to comments should this happen again.
Its such an important discussion with serious implications so needs to be talked about.
Voice0fReason · 18/09/2018 23:54
This has to stop.
The complete disregard for women is disgusting.
Welshmaiden85 · 19/09/2018 00:05
This is disgusting. Simply should not be allowed to happen. If I was a relative of someone in that prison I’d be taking legal action.
Badgerthebodger · 19/09/2018 00:21
Oh God I felt sick reading this. A convicted pedophile and rapist, locked up with women and children. The fox is in the henhouse. Someone up thread (sorry on my phone) mentioned writing to women in prison - does anyone know anything about how we could do that? I will google as well just hoping for a head start.
I will write some letters tomorrow. I am BURNING with rage about this, this fucking outrage that “never happens”. How fucking many times does it need to happen? How many women abused? Does it actually have to be a child? Would that stop them or would even that absolute horror be quietly put aside and shrugged off as collateral damage?
If you’re reading this, and you’re thinking urgh what a nasty TERF - yes. Yes I fucking am and I’m watching and I won’t let you get away with it. I’m standing with hundreds of other women who are not having any of this shit either. Women matter, safeguarding matters, sex-segregated spaces matter. We see you. We fucking see you.

He won't be moved until he assaults someone
However, the prison service have their hands tied here. They are just following the government's policies on trans prisoners. I'm sure that they don't want this headache either.
GulagMilkMonitor · 19/09/2018 06:23
I think it would be a shame if MNHQ closed one of the threads. Threads on FWR to an extent assume some kind of knowledge about the debate, on AIBU it tends to be read by people who aren’t as invested so ask and require different information.
It’s a bit like closing down a thread about first time births because women on their third baby are also discussing births.
Back to the topic in hand, I’ve written to my (female, Labour MP) and I’ll be writing to her local opposition.

I wonder if they might be more vocal about any concerns they have if they are contacted?

Email address to complain to the Prison Service.
BayeauxT · 19/09/2018 07:24
Also write to your MP (my letter was re Stephen Wood aka Karen White). I got a very nice reply yesterday to say he will write to the Prisons Minister ‘to seek some firm reassurances that this sort of ridiculous situation will not re-occur.’ But I will email the above address too, thanks musthavesbackagain.

Absolutely agree that our laws and segregated facilities should be based on sex. It is madness to base laws on the huge variety of people’s feelings about themselves that make up “identity”. I see politicians stating that “non binary identities are valid” ...what does that even mean ? That it is fine to like some blokes things like, er, cars and also some lady things like nail varnish? As though everyone isn’t like that. As though almost the whole of Britain is made up of people who look and feel like either Harrison Ford or Barbie, with a few special exceptions, these incredible non- binary people, who like to occasionally wear trousers and climb cliffs and then sometimes go dancing ? Grrrrrrrrrr
Johndoe10 · 19/09/2018 10:23
I spoke to my friend about this yesterday and her view was ‘well if they (as in women) hadn’t broke the law they wouldn’t be in there any way’
I just don’t understand the logic behind it or why the judge would deem it appropriate.
It’s really making me what to get a tin hat ..
VickyEadie · 19/09/2018 10:26

Ask her to show you where any woman's prison sentence included the words 'and be locked up with no way of escape from male rapists who claim they're women'.
Johndoe10 · 19/09/2018 10:27
I do think the question we should be asking is what is the motivation behind these males being allocated spaces in female prisons
I suspect they are supposedly educated people. So why?
BettyDuMonde · 19/09/2018 10:33
Women are often incarcerated for low level poverty offences such as receiving stolen goods or non payment of fines.
If not being able to pay your council tax now justifies the state locking you up with a rapist, we are off to hell in a hand basket.
