Today I:

  1. Made plans to hand out the FPFW flyers outside the TUC conference tomorrow and Wednesday
  1. Posted on this board
  1. Sent a thank you message to the charity worker who spoke to A Gilligan for the more in depth Karen White article, published today.
It’s not easy to speak out (especially in your real name) so knowing other women are supporting you is incredibly important,
FlippinFumin · 09/09/2018 16:56

Today I

1 Posted here
2 Argued with my daughter about self ID (again)
3 Bookmarked the eventbrite WPUK Sheffield page, tomorrow I will ask at work if anyone is going and can take me.

Betty that is a marvellous idea, we should all thank her for doing that.

DurtySarf · 09/09/2018 17:25

This is a great idea.

Today I completed the City of London gender identity consultation (the official one that closes this Friday!!!).

Will reward myself with Gin later.

greenlanes · 09/09/2018 17:31

Gave details of "Challenging Behaviour and Violence in Children and Young People" group to a stranger who I met today, whose 26 year old son will not treat her respectfully. Hopefully it is the start of her journey to free herself from domestic abuse.

FloralBunting · 09/09/2018 17:31

Today I have posted here about my own history of abuse and the significant impact current events still have on my well being as a woman. Because testimonies of the effects of this stuff are important, and other women lurking and reading may have felt supported by me doing so.

I have written to my MP about the Karen White case and politely demanded that answers be sought as to how it could have happened. I included my own history in the message to underline that these things matter to real people.

greenlanes · 09/09/2018 17:33

Durty - could you post the link please. My last City employer believed that a statement from Stonewall was they needed to do. When I (very bravely imo as a 3 month mature intern) explained that it didnt help me know what bathroom to take a visitor to I was ignored.

tiredandweary · 09/09/2018 17:45

I have emailed my MP asking why the government are placing male paedophiles and sex offenders in women's prisons.
I will this week complete the biased City of London consultation about mixed sex toilets.

hiveofmumsandvillainy · 09/09/2018 17:51

I have womaned up and posted some of the excellent articles from this week on my fb feed, despite knowing that this may mean that some friends will think I have turned into a raving bigot. But courage breeds courage, and another friend has shared an article too.

I talked to my husband again about my concerns about self ID, and he has said he will write to our MP too.

DurtySarf · 09/09/2018 17:52

Hi Greenland's, there's a link on this page: www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/about-the-city/how-we-make-decisions/Pages/equality-inclusion.aspx

There's also a far better one on ManFriday's site (but I haven't done that one yet). There's a link on the homepage: manfridayuk.org

DurtySarf · 09/09/2018 17:53

Sorry, that should be greenlanes

Enjoli · 09/09/2018 17:53

Today I publicly challenged a group of prominent trans right activists and allies.

Then I made further notes for the letter I am writing to my MP, in response to their letter to me after our meeting a few weeks ago.

greenlanes · 09/09/2018 17:59

Thank you Durty - appreciate the links. It is important that we take the time to respond and I dont always know what is happening!!

Theswaggyotter · 09/09/2018 19:42

Today I emailed my msp about the convicted paedophile in women’s prison and shared the times article on fb

daughterofanarchy · 09/09/2018 20:35

Today I posted a few gender critical and self I.d links on Facebook. A male friend read these and asked for more information about it.
He has a wife and daughters, he was outraged that women could lose safe spaces and that self identification could lead to women coming to harm.

Petramum · 10/09/2018 00:30

Today I took a very nervous trans friend out for lunch and some clothes shopping we had a fabulous time,
No nasty stares or comments quite a successful day.

FlippinFumin · 10/09/2018 07:34

Oh my. I have just tweeted South Yorkshire Police. They had tweeted encouraging people to report hate crime, and as a protected characteristic they put gender identity. So I tweeted back at them that it is sex, not gender identity. My first openly GC tweet, well my first tweet.

peachescariad · 10/09/2018 15:31

I've been sharing news-feeds from AWPUK and FPFW, every day on Facebook for the last 8 weeks...not one 'like' off my friends or a share....
Am I deterred? am i going to stop? hell no!!

peachescariad · 10/09/2018 15:32

...should read un-deterred..Grin

KimCheesePickle · 10/09/2018 16:32

(Technically it was yesterday) I put a pack of sanitary towels in the local food bank collection point.

poshme · 10/09/2018 17:06

I put something GC on Facebook. And wrote to my MP.

And told my daughters how brilliant they are. (Do that most days)

RogerAllamsFangirl · 10/09/2018 17:25

I shared an article from the This Never Happens fb group on ROGD on my timeline, explaining my view. For the first time on a GC post I got a few likes and an encouraging comment.

Meet0nTheIedge · 10/09/2018 18:32

I read through the WPUK guidance in my lunch hour to plan my response to the GRA consultation.

newtlover · 10/09/2018 19:41

I've just done the city of london consultation- beware though, it is quite enraging

MnerXX · 10/09/2018 20:16
  1. I joined the WEP so that if they have a vote on moving forward with a GC response to the GRA consultation, I can vote on it.

  2. I have not charged a client who is cancelling an appointment because she has had a miscarriage and have managed to find her an appointment next week instead. We normally ask for five days' notice. She has been my priority today and other emails have been ignored trying to get things sorted for her.

Happityhap · 10/09/2018 20:32

In a FB discussion of the trans rapist, among people who were horrified and were clearly not well-informed about how bad things are getting - I posted a link to the UK gov consultation.
