Everything summed up v. well in this:

Brilliant article-and they misgender....ie speak the truth!

roarfeckingroar · 31/08/2018 12:25

Excellent isn't it.

Would the same article be written about a young black or Muslim female politician? Doubt it.

roarfeckingroar · 31/08/2018 12:32

How do you mean?

AC and DC had direct influence over policy that affects women. It is important that all this is tied together and not pussy-footed around.

'Brilliant article-and they misgender....ie speak the truth!'

And I can't really overstate what a breath of fresh air that is to read. 'Changed his gender by wearing a dress to prom' - wonderful! It's so easy to show up the whole thing for the nonsense it is, if you're brave enough that is....

Thanks for sharing

Has a young black or Muslim female politician ran a blocking account and libelled 50,000 people mainly women? If so then I'd expect them to get trounced/removed/deleted/attacked/hassled/doxxed/ well before AC has.

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 31/08/2018 12:40

If we are talking about this article, and the published fact 'he', does that mean that we can now call AC 'he' on here, if we are talking about this story?

nauticant · 31/08/2018 12:40

I very much like the end of the piece:

In short, what you thought was the self-destructive politics of a Left that’s lost its purpose is now an establishment project.

I assume that many commentators will miss this and froth on about lefties but maybe some readers will pause and think.

I'd also be interested in learning more about this:

Would the same article be written about a young black or Muslim female politician? Doubt it.

It has a tone of drive-by-shouting-"bigot" about it.

I would absolutely expect a black or Muslim politician to be described as such. I don't believe a white politician who identified as black would go down so well.

It would be great to see a white politician who was really supportive of black people though, who really tried to understand the specific prejudices they faced and actively tried to redress the balance. And ditto with males supporting females. There are ways to identify with people without seeking to claim their oppression as your own for personal gain.

happydappy2 · 31/08/2018 13:00

So MNHQ, if the Spectator can use original pronouns, isn't it time that we can on here as well? Its often quite complicated calling known men 'she'

EntropicTupperwareDrawer · 31/08/2018 13:02

Irish, what do you think a similar article about a black or muslim politician would look like? I'm just curious as to what misdemeanours might be comparable in a similar context.

Myself, I see the parallels with, for example, Tessa Jowell being hauled over the coals and investigated because of the actions of her husband ...or Peter and Iris Robinson, where her affair and financial transactions were at issue, but his political career suffered...politicians can expect to be held accountable for the company they keep. It's simply inconceivable to think that you shouldn't distance yourself politically from someone accused of horrific crimes. At very, very VERY best, it shows that Aimee does not have sufficient judgement to be seeking political office.

What's that got to do with child protection?

Superb article. It's quite the day for truthful press pieces.
Looking forward to seeing what Janice Turner gives us next.

Stickerladiesoftheworldunite · 31/08/2018 13:07

Oh and Caroline Lucas was given ample space in The Guardian. Could the same be said for others who don't transcribe to the trans cult?
Not when they can run another sermon from Owen Jones.

Current thread about article also here (with MN thread links to some of the points raised):

ermygerd · 31/08/2018 13:22

Hi Irishdadof2 I bet you were protesting the Pope's visit last week were you? Kicking the departing arse of an oppressive cult that used magical thinking to exert power and control of a population, with special mistreatment meted out to women and children? Fair play, I'm in agreement with you there.

What I don't get is: what's the difference in believing in the holy spirit and believing in gender identity? Believing that Our Lady was conceived without sin and ascended directly into heaven, and believing in gender identity? Believing in the third secret of Fatima and believing in gender identity?

I could go on. But I have an especial disgust for my compatriots who claim to embrace our hardwon secularism yet are replacing it with another set of loony unverified beliefs with rabid abusive intolerance for dissenters. Twitter blocklists and telling our English sisters to fuck off even though they've been cleaning up our theocratic mess for 50 years, allowing thousands of Irish women have safe legal terminations they couldn't have here. Elevating mediocre misogynistic men who decide they're women as "brave and amazing" while heaping abuse on lifelong feminists.

You're making a holy show of us as we say.

Lottapianos · 31/08/2018 17:06

Ok. Finally! Good to see some action on this

sexnotgender · 31/08/2018 17:08

Fantastic article! I’ve already shared it on twitter Smile

EntropicTupperwareDrawer · 31/08/2018 18:38

Why is Aimee referring to themselves in the third person? Does that often happen on their account? Bizarre.

Here is Aimee's statement:

31st August 2018

This Lunchtime I was informed I have been given a “no-fault” suspension by the Green Party of England and Wales so that an investigation could be carried out. I tweeted on the 28th of August my support of their investigation, and that I am working with it.
This remains the same, I will continue to cooperate with the Investigation, and hope that the Green Party will continue to work with me through this time.

I want to thank everyone who has sent me their support, from sitting Labour Councillors, to Young Liberals, to Young Greens, to those in the Green Party who stand by my side. I am thankful. I am saddened to see circumstances have forced me away from the Greens at a crucial point for our party, though I remain fully committed to our shared Green values of Environmental and Social Justice

I hope that the Investigation is able to run efficiently, so that we can all move forward together.

I am intrigued by the concept of the "no fault suspension" pending investigation. Wouldn't they all be? Why specify?

And another chance to distance themselves from David/Baloo/Lucy gone begging.

Isca18 · 04/09/2018 11:30

AC has resigned from the Green Party entirely. Statement says it all and puts Caroline Lucas on Aimee's creation, Terfblocker!
If the catalyst wasn't so tragic and depraved, this would be hilarious. That poor brave little girl.
The Green Party Ouroboros and hoist with their own petard. Good.
