I commented on the Pool 'people who have periods' article...and I've just received a bollocking from Facebook...

MN won't let me post a pic so I'll quote the comment that's led to my slapped wrist below:

"I think it's very much a feminist issue-women have periods. Not all of them - but the ones who don't won't need the tech described in the article. So who is the writer bending over backwards to please?"

This falls short of Facebook community standards, apparently.

Outing, for sure, but I'm past caring at this point.

I'm surprised- does it mean someone reported you? I've seen many comments under similar things, many much worse, surely this is opinion and free speech?

They will allow videos of child abuse & murder, but not your question. I suspect your question wouldn't generate much revenue, though, so it makes sense.

I also had a strange message saying someone had reported me for sounding suicidal, and giving me the number of The Samaritans.

This makes me so angry! I reported a post recently that was genuinely inciting violence against an individual (I didn't know the person but who cares really? That's how innocents get caught in the cross fire). What did Facebook say? Essentially that it didn't breach their community standards but I could block the poster if I wanted to! Then they go and do this to you? Crazy world.

There was an article on The Pool the other week about the lesbian protest at Pride. Loads of comments were reported and deleted because they said that transwomen are not women. Anything that doesn't toe the official line that you cant change sex and only women have periods is not allowed apparently.

Fucking shocking. Still, we can all console ourselves with the thought that Facebook recently suffered the largest devaluation of its value ever seen on the stock market.

I am past caring about facebutt. You either have to hang in RF groups, have a select number of friends, or get suspended/banned.
